The American genomic proof run has brought spectacular results for a number of GenHotel members this month, with several newly tested females reaching the European top 50 gTPI.
The breeding program of Koepon Genetics is again successful with 3 newly tested females in the top 50 gTPI of February. Koepon Mingle Range 514 scores 3472 gTPI and 930 NM, making her the number 1 Peak Mingle daughter in Europe. Her dam, Koepon Sheepster Range 303, is a due to calve daughter of the number 1 TPI daughterproven bull OCD Trooper Sheepster, of course out of the internationally proven Lakeside Ups Red Range-Red VG-86 family. Her full sister Koepon Mingle Range 494 is also in the European top with 3412 gTPI and 949 NM. Koepon Karl Range 486, a Berryridge Ssi Karl out of Koepon Sheepster Range 300 (the full sister of Range 303) is the highest daughter of her sire this month with 3363 gTPI.
Wilder Gesu, a SSI Sheepster Mican with 3419 gTPI and 1031 NM, excels in components and health traits. She traces back to the well known American brood cow Welcome Legendary Gale EX-90, with several sons in AI. Gesu, bred by the Holtkamp family, combines 154 pounds of fat and protein with +5.8 PL, 2.79 SCS and +0.3 DPR, she is also A2A2.
RN Golley Taya has extremely high components: +0.41% fat and +0.10% protein on the American basis, resulting in 164 pounds of fat & protein and 3345 gTPI. In addition, this Beyond Shpstr Golley daughter, bred by Robert Neppelenbroek, Drijber, scores +1.60 PTAT and +1.18 UDC. Many top breeding bulls are from this very solid cow family, such as Mr Welcome Uno Tuffy and Tatum (by Uno), Taboo (by Bookem), Welcome Hill Tango (by Hill) and Progenesis Topnotch (by Jedi).
With 3340 gTPI, Rekkelaar 3STAR Bonna 1 also reaches the top 50 European females this month. Bonna 1 is an Aurora Fargo daughter out of 3STAR Rekkelaar Bonna, an early Wilra SSI Gd War Gear out of the correctly built Siemers Renegade Parfect daughter 3STAR Parfect 8677 GP-84. Bonna 1 has a solid production proof, favorable udderhealth score and +1.84 PTAT with +1.77 UDC.
Also worth mentioning is Koepon Rolf Range 513 P Red, an early Winstar Rolf P RDC daughter out of Koepon Woodside Range 330 RDC, who is the highest red-and-white in Europe this month with 3141 gTPI. In addition, Range 513 has also inherited the polled gene from her sire, which makes her even more interesting from a breeding point of view.
