Peak Powerhouse, #1 TPI proven bulls in USA
In the USA, the August 2026 breeding values for bulls were published this week. New is the Holstein Conformation Composite (HCC), the total index for conformation, which was developed by the American Holstein Association as an alternative to the PTAT. Compared to the PTAT, the HCC gives more weight to traits that are directly related to functionality, balance and longevity, taking into account the correlations between the traits. The HCC is intended for breeders who are looking for a cow with an average frame, functional management traits, a balanced physique and good productivity over several lactations. Proven bulls
The leading position among the Holstein daughterproven bulls is now occupied by Peak Powerhouse (AltaWheelhouse x AltaZazzle), who after an increase of 119 points TPI in April, this run rises again 113 points and now scores 3561 TPI. In 2nd place debuts Matcrest Arc Hobbs, an AltaRecharge x Einstein, with 3547 TPI but with moderate conformation. OCD Trooper Sheepster, who topped the list in April, is holding up well (+67 points TPI), with 4498 milking daughters in America, and is now in 3rd place. Bulls such as SDG-PH Delux Dominance (Delux x Pursuit) and La-Ca-De-Le T Isaac 8731 (Taos x Langley) are also still in the top 10 TPI breeding bulls in America in August. A full brother of Hobbs, Matcrest Arc Hayward, also starts creditably in 6th place with 3463 TPI. Bulls such as Peak Momento (Molino x Pursuit), Terra-Calroy Zuri (AltaZazzle x Tahiti) and SDG Cap Garza (Captain x Josuper) are no longer in the top 10, but rank still in the top 20.
The highest polled proven bull with 3275 TPI is Denovo 17917 Mythical P (Mendel P x Entity), a descendant of Clear-Echo 822 Ramo 1200 EX-94. In the top 200 TPI, AOT Parfect Harmony (Parfect x Positive) is the highest bull for conformation: he scores +2.10 PTAT (3200 TPI).
High genomic young sires
Aurora GS Woodford (Ripcord x Sheepster) now occupies the top spot among the high young bulls. He comes from an own cow family from Aurora Ridge Dairy LLC, Aurora in New York, USA and scores a sky-high 3622 gTPI, by combining high production with favorable health traits. He is closely followed by S-S-I Kingdom Formal, which gets his gTPI of 3619 more from the components and his high fertility score. Formal is a Kingdom x Sheepster from the Seagull-Bay O-Man Mirror VG-86 family. In 3rd place with 3608 gTPI is Genosource Jaco (Hayward x Buxton), an all-round young sire from the family of Coyne-Farms Ramos Jelly VG-85.
The highest polled young bull, OCD King Lothair P (Howland P x Dominance), has an great production score and favorable health traits, resulting in 3536 gTPI.
