Four times in the Swiss Red gISET top 10!
3STAR Patser Red (Shield RC x AltaRefine) is now the no. 2 genomic Red Holstein sire in Switzerland
The new index run has started this week, with the first results coming in from Switzerland this morning. And there is already plenty to be proud of: no fewer than four bulls from the GenHotel members’ network and/or the 3STAR Breeding Program are ranked among the new Red Holstein (g)ISET Top 10!
The highest-ranked is 3STAR Patser Red (s. Shield RC) with a gISET of 1480, placing him #2 on the list. Simply Red son 3STAR MB Sun-Up follows in 4th place with 1447 gISET, while his maternal-brother 3STAR Arjo Red (s. Reality RC) ranks sixth with 1417 gISET. HWH Get PP Red from HWH Holsteins completes the success in 8th place with 1407 gISET.
3STAR Patser Red, the Red Holstein powerhouse from the Bomaz Delta 7173 family, immediately stands out with his combination of +1,679 kg milk, +98 kg fat and +81 kg protein. His genetics also prove to be widely applicable beyond Switzerland. Following this index run, Patser scores an impressive 157 gRZG, ranking him fourth in the German Interbull Red Holstein ranking. His dam 3STAR Patty Red VG-85 is now in her second lactation and connects Patser to the well-known Bomaz Delta 7173 family through her granddam Bomaz Salvatore RC 8066.
3STAR MB Sun-Up Red, bred jointly by Marcel Brugman and GenHotel, also shows a strong international profile. The Simply Red x Parfect combines his 1447 gISET with +1,669 kg milk, +61 kg fat and +55 kg protein. He descends from the well-known Aiko cow family and is now owned by Inseme. Sun-Up also performs strongly in his home country Italy, where he scores 5058 gPFT.
3STAR MB Sun-Up Red
His matenral-brother 3STAR Arjo Red, owned by SwissGenetics, also holds a strong position in the Top 10 with 1417 gISET. He combines +1,420 kg milk, +70 kg fat and +64 kg protein with positive percentages and good longevity. Patser, Sun-Up and Arjo all test above 124 ITP. The latter two bulls share the same maternal line, connecting them to, among others, Mega-Red P and RUW Session Red.
3STAR Arjo Red
With 1407 gISET, Weckesser's HWH Get PP Red completes the Swiss Top 10. The Globed x Mars traces back through the well-known brood cow Amber PP Red to Dixie-Lee Aspen. As a homozygous polled bull, Get PP Red stands out with a strong production profile and interesting functional traits, combined with his polled genetics. This currently makes him the highest-tested homozygous polled bull on the Swiss base.
