The first genomic results for De Oosterhof 3STAR Laney (VH Ryder x Metcalf) are in, and they are impressive. Bred by De Oosterhof and GenHotel, this young heifer scores an outstanding 476 gNVI and 155 gRZG. On the Dutch evaluation base, she ranks among the top 10 B&W females for gNVI. As an early VH Ryder daughter, Laney also shows strong figures on the German evaluation base.
Her indexes combine a substantial increase in milk production with impressive components and good health traits. On the Dutch base, Laney scores +2,379 kg milk with +0.29% fat and +0.03% protein, resulting in 133 kg fat and 87 kg protein. Her German figures are equally noteworthy, with +1,454 kg milk and +0.51% fat and +0.19% protein. Together, these results highlight the strength of her profile across both evaluation systems.
Behind Laney is a cow family that has combined performance and breeding potential for generations. Her dam, 3STAR OH Lina, is a Metcalf daughter who is projected at 9,449 kg of milk in her first lactation, with 4.76% fat and 3.72% protein.
Through grand dam 3STAR OH Leica VG-86 and De Oosterhof DG Leida VG-85, the pedigree traces back to the influential Golden-Oaks Mark Prudence family. This cow family also includes the well-known DG OH Donna RDC VG-89, dam of the bulls Topstone and Doble RDC. It is a family that has made its mark not only through its female descendants but also in sire breeding.
The family continues to deliver promising results in the current generation. Last summer, ZB 3STAR LifeStyle, an early Alaska daughter, was born out of 3STAR OH Lina. She recorded an impressive 159 gRZG and 129 gRZE. Combined with Laney’s 155 gRZG and 476 gNVI, these results demonstrate the family’s ability to perform across both the German and Dutch evaluation systems.
