Beoogde, nieuwe nummer 3 roodbont gRZG stier: Waldclass Bueno Red
The rankings within the German RZG system remain dynamic, with new top sires continuously emerging and keeping genomic competition in constant motion. At present, it's clear that a large proportion of the top 10 Red Holstein genomic sires (source: www.vit.de) have been bred and/or sold by GenHotel.
Following the December 2025 index run, five bulls shared the top position with a gRZG of 159: COL Create P Red, Cardif P Red, Coco Red P, 3STAR OH Maestro Red and ELL Schach Red. Meanwhile, new leaders have entered the scene, storming the rankings with impressive total scores in the German system.
3STAR Harmonic P Red – the new number 1
The projected number 1 for April 2026 is 3STAR Harmonic P Red, a Handout P Red son bred by GenHotel. His granddam is 3STAR OH Mazzali GP-84 (VG-89 MS), descending from the well-known Maybelline Tual VG-85 cow family. Harmonic P Red exceeds all expectations with a gRZG of 164, gRZN 133, gRZR 117, excellent hoof health, and a gRZE of 131 (131 FUN & 123 Udder), combined with +1,755 kg milk, +0.21% fat and +0.18% protein. This promising sire is available through RBW (internationally through GGI).
3STAR OH Semper P Red – polled and outstanding health
In second place with a gRZG of 162 is 3STAR OH Semper P Red (Simply Red x VG-86 Frisbee RDC), a polled son owned by RUW (internationally available in the future through GGI). He descends from the Red Holstein K&L OH Silky Red line of the Des-Y-Gen Planet Silk RDC EX-90 cow family, known for producing AI sires. Semper P Red scores 137 gRZN, 138 gRZS, 116 persistence, and 129 EUT. His dam, 3STAR OH Monique P 2 Red, is projected at 9,834 kg milk with 4.07% fat and 3.64% protein in her first lactation.
Waldclass Bueno Red – high RZ€ and strong genetics
Waldclass Bueno Red, bred by Waldclass Holsteins (Van der Meulen) and supplied through GenHotel to RinderAllianz (internationally available through GGI), ranks third. With 161 gRZG and 3,155 gRZ€, he is among the highest RZ€ transmitters currently available. His dam, Waldclass 3STAR RM Marith 6 RDC VG-86 (Best Benz), is a result of the 3STAR Embryo Program. Bueno Red transmits +2,159 kg milk, +0.24% fat, 133 gRZS, optimal hoof health and calving ease, and scores 121 for feet & legs.
3STAR OH Maestro Red – leader in gRZ€
3STAR OH Maestro Red (Shield RDC x Rammstein) has the highest gRZ€ breeding value at 3,178 and ranks 9th among all young Red Holstein bulls with 159 gRZG. He is a maternal-brother to Harmonic P Red and scores 131 for dairy strength (MYT). Maestro Red excels in components (+199 kg fat + protein), longevity (gRZN), and hoof health (119 gRZHKlaue). Available through RUW (internationally through GGI), he is already being used as a sire of sons.
GlH Spearmint Red – an established top sire
The top 10 is completed by GlH Spearmint Red, a Skat P RDC son who has maintained his top 10-rankings for an extended period. With 158 gRZG, 150 gRZM (194 kg fat + protein), 120 gRZE (126 MYT), and 129 gRZN, he is an impressive all-rounder. His dam, the Freestyle-Red daughter HMH 3STAR Flash Red VG-87, was active for a long time in the flushing program of the 3STAR Embryo Program and owned by HM Holsteins & 3STAR Genetics. Spearmint Red was sold as an embryo to AI organization RSH (internationally available through GGI), stationed there as well, and will turn two years old in May.
