Successful Classification Day for Aalshorst Holsteins

For Aalshorst Holsteins, it was once again time to present a strong group of cows to the herdbook classifier. In total, 16 2-yr-olds were classified, with the polled Aalshorst Fienchen 70 P Red as the absolute highlight, achieving an awesome VG-88 score.
The first-calving daughter of Red Rocks Mask Red, Aalshorst Fienchen 70 P Red, received an outstanding VG-88 (maximum VG-89 DS). This makes her only the second daughter of this former sire of sons in the Netherlands to reach such a high conformation score.
Her performance does not come as a surprise. As a young heifer, Fienchen 70 already showed high breeding values for conformation in her German index. She descends from a deep and successful cow family tracing back through VG-88 Mask Red x Star P RDC x VG-86 Match P RDC x VG-85 Rubi-Agronaut x VG-85 Apoll P Red to the multiple bull dam Poppe Fienchen 803 RDC VG-86.
Her full sister, Aalshorst Fienchen 72 Red (A2A2 & BB), was also classified very successfully with VG-87 and a maximum of VG-89 MS. A maternal sister by Dragon P RDC, Aalshorst Fienchen 74 P RDC, achieved a solid VG-86 with an impressive VG-88 for Udder. From the line VG-86 Gywer RDC x GP-83 Salvatore RC x VG-86 Colorado — also tracing back to Poppe Fienchen 803 RDC — Aalshorst Fienchen 77 RDC was classified VG-87. This September-calved daughter of American Rovelli Red is currently projected at 10,246 kg of milk with 4.02% fat and 3.51% protein.

The highest reclassified cow of this classification round was the third-calver Aalshorst 3STAR Jolie 4 Red. She achieved VG-88, supported by an impressive EX-91 for Udder. The Jolie family originates from GBM Val Blackstar Jean EX-94 and entered the herd of the Scholten family through the 3STAR Embryo Program.
With these results, Aalshorst Holsteins looks back on a highly successful classification day, once again underlining the strength and consistency of its cow families.
