No. 1. Red Holstein sire in Germany is again leading in gNVI

In the competitive landscape of genomic sires, ELL Schach has emerged as the standout leader among the red genomic bulls in Flanders/the Netherlands. This Skat P RDC son has achieved the top spot in the German gRZG list and boasts an impressive NVI score of 386. With significant movements in this ranking, we’ll explore the latest developments and highlight the indexes of some of these exceptional sires.

Genomic sires - Among the red genomic bulls, ELL Schach retains the top position. This Skat P RDC son has generated excitement among his breeders and owners after recently achieving the number one spot in the German gRZG list after just a few evaluations as well. Schach, a red offspring of Lylehaven Lila Z, also tops the NVI chart for the second consecutive time. Since April 2025, Schach has increased his index score by 24 points, now testing at 386 gNVI. August's number two, Brakels Elevate (Rammstein Red x Elixer), has risen to an NVI of 360 (585 INET), moving up four places in the red genomics ranking. The newest addition to this index run is Koepon Real Life-Red at CRV. This Reality RC son, out of Koepon Ranger Doma 58 Red, is tracing back to Scientific Debutante Rae EX-92. He tests at 359 gNVI (1185 LVD). In fifth position is the highest-ranking polled red genomic bull, MBL Skabi P Red, now at 357 gNVI. This German Skat P RDC son debuted in April with 348 gNVI and has significantly improved his position and index score since. New to the sixth place is Cowboy P, a polled bull from the combination of CR 7 P Red x Money P Red, testing at 355 gNVI (DE-155 gRZG #16). Remaining in the top ten is RR Shein Red, maintaining his 7th place with an unchanged gNVI of 353. KNS Solar P, bred by KNS Holsteins from a multiple sire dam, has made a substantial leap from 16th place in April 2025 to 10th place this round, with a gNVI of 347 (+43). The dam to Solar P Red, Pazifik P, has been in lactation since February and was classified GP-84/DE in her first lactation.

Among the young tested Holstein bulls, Bento has been dethroned after several consecutive top runs. The son of Bench recorded a gNVI of 409 in August, placing him in 4th place. He was surpassed by Rise Up (Real Syn x Freewood P), who, with his impressive 417 gNVI, is the highest newcomer this round. With an RZG of 162 (#6), the early Real Syn son had a remarkable debut in his native country. The top Holstein list in this evaluation primarily feature American bulls from Genosource. Genosource Mystro (Hayward x Mcguire) ranks in 2nd place with a gNVI of 411, followed closely by Genosource Moti (Hobbs x Thorson) at 410 gNVI in 3rd place. Radical son Genosource Benson ranks 6th with an impressive gNVI of 397. Widely used as a sire of sons, he boasts a great gTPI of 3411 was well. Vanilla P (Surfer P x Ridercup), the highest polled bull, places 5th with 401 gNVI (3374 kgM / 654 INET) and is from the Coyne-Farms Ramos Jelly cow family.

The entire top genomics ranking consists of bulls bred overseas. The first Dutch-born bull to appear is Delta Casper, who is ranked 21st with a gNVI of 366. Delta Smart (Genius x Topgear) stands out as the highest conformation bull, while VH Sitron (361 gNVI #25) remains the top milk transmitter among all tested bulls, with a production of 3612 kgM.

Skabi P Red Rise Up

 

Proven sires - Genosource Captain (Charl x Tango) continues to be the leading breeding bull in the Netherlands after eight consecutive runs. This evaluation sees an unnamed American bull closing the gap behind Captain, who is succeeded by Peak Breaking News, an AltaZazzle son. This bull, previously on the interbull Holstein NVI list in April, now has 26 daughters in milk and is performing strongly as a NVI bull, marking a notable debut. He is also the highest climber with a remarkable increase of 79 points in his index. In third place is KAX Gladius from Italy, who makes a powerful international debut while also ranking well in the Dutch/Flemish lists. Wet Acura Maximus, sired by Acura, drops from second to fourth place with a NVI of 310 NVI. One of the top sires for components, Peak Fugleman (AltaZazzle x Positive), ranks #6 with based on his NVI and brings 291 NVI with +0.63% fat & 0.28% protein! 

For conformation, Koepon Random (Ranger x Board) retains his position as the best proven conformation bull, scoring 113 Total Conformation. This very popular Double W Ranger son has seen his proven index rise to an impressive 3614 milking daughters in this run. The proven sire with the best will for production is Adaway Rio 2183 (Rio x Helix), ransmitting 2886 kgM.

DG Dv Rammstein Red, a debuting proven sire with 114 milking daughters and an NVI of 340, is off to an excellent start. He further establishes the lineage of De Oosterhof Dg Rose RDC VG-89 (3rd dam). Following him is 3STAR OH Ranger Red (Rubels x Salvatore x Rose RDC VG-89) with an NVI of 317. The direct son of Lakeside Ups Red Range VG-86, who was in 3rd place in April, has risen 24 points in his index, moving him to second place, showcasing the influence of brood cow Rose RDC, owned by the Mensink family (Sudena Holsteins). Also, her direct son, Sudena Rotary Red (by Swingman Red), ranks 7th on this list with an NVI index of 258, based on his first 83 daughters. Following closely is Ranger's full brother, Koepon OH Ryder Red, in 9th place, and their maternal brother by Wilder Mark RDC line, Koepon Rugosa Red, who ranks 12th with 244 NVI and has 66 milking daughters. In third place is Poppe Kayne, the top bull from last April, boasting an NVI of 305. Kayne, a son of Wilder K41 RDC VG-88, descends from the Wilder Kanu cow family.

The highest polled sire over all Red Holsteins is the international Drouner K&L Augustus P Red. This son of Solitair P Red, bred by Drouner Holsteins and GenHotel, is descending from the Aiko cow family. He tests at 237 NVI / 605 LVD and is owned by Cogent. Augustus P Red made a significant impact earlier this week in Canada, where he was recognized as the number one red proven sire. Among all daughter-tested Red Holstein bulls, Delta Louis P Red leads in milk production with an impressive +2920 kgM.

Regarding conformation sires, the top three spots on the list are currently held by bulls from the Albring family. Drouner Abraxas Red P by Abundant P Red, Drouner Potency Red by Powernap, and Drouner Rednex by Effort Red all have a conformation score of 111. However, Potency Red stands out with a score of 112 for udder conformation, giving him the edge over the other two sires. It’s worth noting that all three bulls come from the renowned Aiko cow family.
