The annual Rundvee Show Noord brought exciting results. While New Moore Holsteins and Drouner Holsteins battled for the top spots throughout the day, the grand championship went to the Withaar-Prent family's second calver, Sidekick daughter. Yesterday, this cow from the New Moore herd also received a maximum score of VG-89.
During the showday, three classes of 2-yr-olds were judged, with two of the classes won by young milkers bred by GenHotel members. In the youngest class, the winner was New Moore Tatoo Dina395, bred by New Moore Holsteins. Dina395 is a Tatoo x VG-88 Fitz heifer who calved at the end of March at just 1.10 years old and comes from the well-regarded Dina family. The red Drouner Aiko 2019, a McDonald P-Red daughter bred by Drouner Holsteins, secured second place in this category. The Albring family also celebrated success in the second category, where a Dreamtime RDC P daughter from the Mientje family claimed second place.

This milking 2-yr-old Drouner Mientje 1995 VG-87 is a direct descendant of the EX-90 Pepper Drouner Mientje 1372. For the Nijman (De Wijde Blik)/Gunnink families, a highlight occurred in the oldest class with De Wijde Blik Matzi Matzi VG-88 (Fitz x Unix). Matzi Matzi is the reigning Junior Reserve Champion of the Wintershow Zwolle 2025 and triumphed in her class. The finals concluded excitingly with the Tatoo daughter from the Prent-Withaar family being crowned champion, while the VG-88 Fitz daughter from the Gunnink family earned the reserve championship along with the udder championship. This week, the2-yr-old champion from the Prent-Withaar family was awarded an impressive maximum score of VG-89 (VG-89 ms)!

The breeders' success continued in the intermediate class, where Drouner Holsteins achieved a double victory in the youngest category. The top honor went a second calver Drouner K&L Augustus P Red's, Drouner Mientje 1927 Red, who is out of the VG-88 scored Crown-Red Drouner Mientje 1766. Following closely behind in second place was her herdmate, Drouner Cosco 1877 VG-89 by Barolo. Notably, her grandam is the maternal-sister of Drouner AJDH Cosmo EX-92 and was the 2019 Reserve Senior Champion HHH.

In the next category, New Moore Holsteins also took home a double victory. New Moore Side Maria 510, sired by Sidekick, outperformed herdmate, New Moore A342 Dina 389 VG-85. Maria 510 calved in May for the second time from a Stantons Chief heifer calf and was in excellent condition for the show day. A trace of Drouner influence remained in this winning pair’s pedigree, originating from Dina 389, whose sire is hailing from the Aiko family. During the championship, the judges faced a difficult decision. In the end, the Prent-Withaar family claimed both titles, with Sidekick daughter Maria 510 winning the top prize. She was also awarded for having the best udder. Maria 510 not only took home these awards but also achieved an impressive score of VG-89 with a VG-89 mammary this week. Reserve champion Dina 389 also received a score of VG-89.

The award for the best Red Holstein in the junior category was won by Drouner Mientje 1927 Red, the second calver Augustus P Red, owned by the Albring family. The reserve prize in this category also went to Drouner Holsteins, awarded to Drouner Aiko 2019, a daughter of McDonald P Red.

In the youngest category for senior cows, Blondin Success VG-89, owned by the Albring family and GenHotel, took first place. This Raptor daughter, out of Goldwyn Subliminale EX-97, calved for the third time in early summer and was in excellent form at the right time. The Albring family also excelled in the second category, the production class, where their well-known King Doc daughter, Drouner Mientje 1619, claimed the top spot.
In the final for the best udder in the senior category, Success VG-89's udder was named Reserve Champion. The Albring family also won the senior champion title with their EX-92 classified King Doc.

The title for the best herd group was decisively claimed by the threesome from New Moore Holsteins. The reserve was won by Drouner Holsteins. This year, the grand championship was rightfully awarded to the intermediate champion New Moore Side Maria 510.
