Top honours for GenHotel breeders at Rundvee Show Noord!

Several breeders from the GenHotel network enjoyed strong results at Rundvee Show Noord in Lhee. The Withaar-Prent family of New Moore Holsteins was particularly prominent in the 2-yr-old classes. They entered the ring with four young milking 2-yr-olds, three of which qualified for the championship. GenHotel members also enjoyed plenty of success in the intermediate and older cow classes.

The first milking 2-yr-old class was won by New Moore Drop Dina 397 VG-87, a Dropbox daughter that calved at two years of age, out of a VG-88 Fitz dam. Dina 397 finished ahead of her herdmate New Moore Sk Esme 194 VG-88. The Sidekick daughter also made a strong impression, taking second place. This New Moore Esmeralda 38 EX-93 gr. daughter was also named best udder of her class. Third place went to De Wijde Blik Arizona 2, a powerful, jet-black Big Malki daughter from the Nijman family. Arizona 2 recently received VG-88 classification, with a maximum of VG-89 for Frame. Through her great-granddam Olympian Gold RDC EX-90, she traces back to the famous KHW Regiment Apple-Red EX-96 family.

New Moore continued its winning streak in the second heifer class. New Moore Sk Esmeralda 186 VG-87, a full sister to Sk Esme 194, took first place and was also praised for her outstanding udder. Competition was strong, including Drouner Sublima 2097 VG-88 from the Albring family. The Barolo daughter had already enjoyed success earlier this show season, winning the Heifer Championship at the FDV Winter Show 2026. The great-granddaughter of Blondin Goldwyn Subliminale EX-97 finished third in Lhee.

With two full sisters competing, New Moore was also strongly represented in the Udder Championship. In the end, New Moore Sk Esme 194 VG-88 claimed the Reserve title. The championship went to a Blondin Driven daughter owned by Theo van Vliet, who had also won the 2-yr-old Championship.

New Moore also added an Honourable Mention in the 2-yr-old Championship with New Moore Drop Dina 397, rounding off a particularly successful show day for the Withaar-Prent family.

Several GenHotel members also made their mark in the intermediate cow classes. The first class was won by Drouner Aiko 2010 Red VG-88 from the Albring family. The red Ranger-Red daughter impressed not only with her stylish appearance, but also received the award for Best Udder. She finished ahead of second-calver De Wijde Blik Pippa 2 PP RDC VG-89. The Delta Drone PP Red daughter from the Nijman family placed third. Pippa 2 PP RDC also received an impressive new VG-89 classification during the recent classification. The Golden-Oaks Mark Prudence daughter is continuing to build an outstanding type record.

GenHotel members remained at the top of the following classes as well. New Moore Jan Maria 526, a second-calver by Jan, took the first position, finishing ahead of, among others, Drouner Aiko 1899 Red from the Albring family.

The oldest class brought another success for Drouner Holsteins. The now well-known, strikingly white third-calver Drouner Cosmo 1836 EX-92 delivered another strong performance. The Alligator daughter won her class and also received the Best Udder banner, qualifying her for the Udder Championship. An impressive achievement, particularly as Cosmo has now been in lactation for a full year.

The strong performance of Drouner Holsteins continued in the finals. Drouner Aiko 2010 Red s. Ranger Red claimed both the title of Intermediate Champion and the Best Red title among all young milkers.

And the success did not stop there. The Ranger-Red daughter also added the Reserve title in the Udder Championship to her impressive list of achievements. Drouner Aiko 2102 P Red also competed for the honours. The Hellende Brandy P daughter, who had competed in the first milker classes earlier in the day, was named Reserve Best Red in the Best Red competition.

The competition for the Senior Championship was divided into two classes: one for older cows and one production class. For De Wijde Blik Corrie 679 EX-91, the day could hardly have gone better. The Crown-Red daughter from the Nijman family, already Reserve Senior Champion at the National Red & White Show 2026, recently received an impressive new classification of EX-91 AV with EX-93 for Type during the latest classification day. This marks another important milestone in the Nijman family.

In a particularly strong class, Corrie 679 placed second. Third place went to another Crown-Red daughter, Drouner Anna 1709 RDC EX-93 from the Albring family. The battle for Best Red among the senior cows then became a direct contest between two outstanding animals from the same class. Dijkema's Attraction-Red daughter edged out the impressive Corrie 679 to claim the title. De Wijde Blik Corrie 679 was named Reserve Best Red.

One of the highlights of Rundvee Show Noord is traditionally the competition for the Best Breeders' Group. Six herds entered a group of three animals, providing another opportunity for GenHotel members to showcase the strength of their breeding programmes.

The young animals from the Withaar-Prent family performed best as a group, earning New Moore Holsteins the title of Best Breeders' Group. The Reserve title went to the strong group from De Wijde Blik/Gunnink.
