Hedra Holsteins successful at UFF Show

At the 30th edition of the UFF-Wintershow Utrecht in Houten, Hedra Holsteins of Arjen Vernooij from Schalkwijk was very successful.

Hedra Remarlinda 1722 was crowned Junior Champion category. The stretched Siemers Renegade Parfect daughter stepped confidently and with ample strides to the championship. Remarlinda 1722 is a descendant of the French foundation cow Remarlinda, who, through her O-Man daughter Etazon Renate, is the (great) granddam of proven bulls such as Delta Atlantic, Titanium, Danno and Solero.

In the intermediate class, the third-calf cow Delta Ninte was named the Reserve Champion. The strong, excellent red-and-white Mauro daughter still has a beautifully veined udder and walks on strong legs. She has her origins in the Apina Nadja/Bersaglio O-Man Qualsiasi cow family from Italy.

In the older cows (calved at least 4 times) it was again a prize for Vernooij. Despite the fact that Hedra Anne 1291 (by Floris) has been in milk since August, she was in beautiful show condition. With her smooth locomotion, beautiful frame and especially high attached rear udder, she easily claimed the Senior Championship title. Anne 1291 also comes from an internationally renowned cow family, namely that of the American brood cow Yarsons Apollo Haven Amber VG-86, dam of the proven bull Lylehaven Ambition.

In the herd groups, the 3 cows of Vernooij were placed second in the class. The Hedra Holsteins collection consisted of (from left to right) Hedra Javina 1416 (by Altitude-Red), Hedra Anne 1291 (by Floris) and Delta Ninte (by Mauro).
