Redpower Rita 2 wins twice at Dairy Fair by Night
Willem's-Hoeve Redpower Rita 2
One of the regular participants at the Dairy Fair by Night, where exhibitors compete for the title of Barones van Mariënwaerdt, is Willem's-Hoeve Holsteins. With their barn favourites specially prepared for this atmospheric evening show, the team returned home in the middle of the night with several titles in their pockets. The greatest successes came from second-calver Willem's-Hoeve Redpower Rita 2 (Power).
Redpower Rita 2 entered the ring in the Red Holstein class for young cows in the intermediate category. Earlier this year, she was classified VG-88 overall with VG-89 for udder. In 2024, she already claimed the class victory at Mariënwaerdt in the Red Holstein 2-yr-olds competition. Now, eight months into her second lactation, the red Rita was ready to continue her successful run.
Despite strong competition, Redpower Rita 2 made it through to the finals of the intermediate class. The VG-88 Power daughter was awarded the Reserve Champion title. She also competed in the final for Best Udder, where Redpower Rita 2 ultimately took the victory.
Willem's-Hoeve Redpower Rita 2
The Willem's-Hoeve breeding also made a strong impression in the Holstein classes. Willem's-Hoeve Rita 2491a, a fourth-calver Mogul daughter classified EX-91, competed in the Holsteinclass for older cows. She won her class, earning her a place among the finalists competing for the title of Holstein Senior Champion.
Also competing in this category was the nearly six-year-old, third-calver Peak Remington daughter Willem's-Hoeve Rita 2438. This production powerhouse was classified EX-91 earlier this year and once again demonstrated her quality during the Dairy Fair by Night by getting placed 3rd. Together, the three Rita cows contributed to a highly successful evening for Willem's-Hoeve.
