Vernooij & Roubos claim titles at regional summer show
RH Aiko P RDC, Vogue Illustrator-P RC x VG-89 AltaTop-Red
Roubos Holsteins had a successful participation in the annual Oogstfeest Krommerijnstreek show, achieving a fantastic title. Their 1.5-year-old heifer, RH Aiko P RDC, won the award for Heifer Champion. The Vernooij family from Hedra Holsteins also celebrated success in the category for milking 2-year-olds.
Through Roubos Aiko P RDC's sire, Vogue Illustrator-P RC, the red factor is reintroduced to the Batouwe Salsa Aiko Red line of KHW Goldwyn Aiko RDC EX-91 after three red generations. This beautiful heifer not only carries the red factor but also inherited the polled sire. Aiko P RDC is a daughter of the VG-89 (EX-91 MS) scored R&B Altatop Ailene Red, an AltaTop daughter out of Rhala RE Quickstep Red. This Quickstep Red connects Aiko P RDC to her third dam, Batouwe Salsa Aiko Red VG-85. Her dam's maternal-sister, R&B Solitair Aisha P Red VG-86, a high-testing, polled Solitair P daughter, served as a key embryo donor, generating numerous offspring. This proves that this versatile Aiko line remains highly sought after. The white, beautifully built Aiko P RDC topped her class and was ultimately awarded the champion title among the heifers!

Among the lactating heifers, Hedra Holsteins presented Cool Enoug 1639, a correct Delta Perfect daughter who traces back many generations to the American Larcrest Cosmopolitan VG-87. Fifth dam, Farnear-TBR-BH Cite VG-85, has become a bull dam, partly because the Massey daughter sold for $185,000 to AltaGenetics. The cow family behind this Cool Enoug 1639 at Vernooij's makes owning a heifer like her extra special. The Perfect daughter was named best milking 2-yr-old of the day.
