Cosmo 1836 reigns again at FDV Wintershow

Drouner Cosmo 1836 EX-91, reigning Grand Champion of the FDV Wintershow
The cows of the Albring family (Drouner Holsteins) dominated the show ring at last Friday’s FDV Wintershow, securing multiple top placings in a festive and competitive atmosphere. The evening’s highlight was the Grand Champion title, awarded for the second consecutive year to crowd and herd favorite Drouner Cosmo 1836 EX-91.
The grand finale for the FDV Wintershow 2026 Grand Champion title delivered an exciting climax. For the second year in a row, the snow-white Cosmo 1836 EX-91 was crowned “queen of Beilen and surroundings” by the judge, securing the Grand Championship honors for the Albring family.
In the first milking classes, Albring claimed class victories with two first-calving full sisters. These Barolo daughters from the Budjon Goldwyn Subliminal EX-97 branch had already made headlines at the national HHH Show last November. The January-fresh Drouner Sublima 2097 captured the Junior Champion title there, while her full sister—coincidentally sharing the same name—was named Reserve Champion among the junior milking 2-yr-olds. Last Friday, both sisters continued their winning streak by taking class victories. In the final, the reserve title went to the oldest sister, while her younger, freshly calved sister received the honorable mention. Both cows were also praised for their outstanding udders, earning ‘Best Udder’ in their respective classes.

In the intermediate section, where second- and third-calving cows were divided into three classes, victory in the oldest class went to the third calver Alligator daughter Drouner Cosmo 1836 EX-91. This long-bodied, highly dairy cow has built an impressive track record over the years. Her breakthrough came in 2023, when she was crowned Junior B&W 2-yr-old Champion at the HHH Show. She continued that success at the FDV Wintershow, claiming her first Grand Championship in Beilen last year after being named Intermediate Champion.

In the senior cow category, the class win went to the fourth-calving Excellent Kenmore Triple Crown-Red daughter Drouner Anna 1709. She went on to secure the Senior championship title in the final. With a lifetime production of approximately 45,000 kg of milk, this powerful cow outperformed the 2026 Groningen Rundveeshow 2026 Grand Champion, Cinderella 1, both in her class and in the championship.
In the competition for best breeder’s group, the red trio of the Steegink family claimed victory, while Drouner Holsteins finished as Reserve Champion.
Later on, more photos of the participating cows will be added to this news item.
