National champion Cosmo 1836 takes 3rd title in one lactation!

At the FDV Wintershow 2024 in Beilen, several GenHotel members presented their best cows to compete for the titles. Drouner Cosmo 1836, the national champion bred and owned by the Albring family, was among the well-known names. The competition was tough, and the event saw more impressive cows, including the Grand Champion of the Veekeuring Balk Het Uilenreef Charity 16 EX-91.

​2-Yr-Olds
Drouner Asmara 1865, a Croteau Lesperron Unix daughter, led the first class. New Moore Side Maria 510, sired by Sidekick and owned by New Moore Holsteins, came in second place and won the Best Udder in the class. The second class was won by Drouner Cosmo 1836, who was also crowned Best Udder of the class. Drouner Aiko 1849 RDC, a Unix out of a VG-88 Effort Red, placed second in this class.

In the 2-yr-old championship, the victory went to Drouner AJDH Cosmo/Larcrest Juror Chanel descendant Drouner Cosmo 1836, who also won the championship for Best Udder as well. This was the third champion title for Cosmo 1836 VG-89 since she calved in the summer of 2023!

Intermediate Class
The intermediate categories with young cows was also filled with cows from GenHotel's members. New Moore Doorman Jantje VG-87, a second lactation Doorman from the Prent-Withaar family's Jantje cow family, placed second. Het Uilenreef Charity 16 EX-91, Robert Neppelenbroek's well-known show diva, earned a strong second place in her class, just behind the two-time National Grand Champion Heerenbrink Angelina of the Steegink-Van den Berg family.

Seniors
Ten dairy cows participated in the oldest category with seniors. Drouner Ria 1420 EX-92, the fifth calver Mogul daughter of the Albring family, was awarded as Udder Champion and Reserve Senior Champion by the judge. She had also won the championship of the Senior Cows and Best Udder at the Rundveeshow Noord 2023 at the end of her lactation last August. Honorable mention went New Moore Solomon Trui VG-86, a cow in fourth lactation from the New Moore herd.

The 'Best Red' cup of all participating senior cows went to Norwin Piet and his cow NRP Awesome Amberlee EX-90. The Prent-Withaar family's fourth calver New Moore Tedbull Maria 463 EX-90 won the title Reserve Best Red.
