Spectacular Nacht van de Achterhoek

During the second edition of the Nacht van de Achterhoek, GenHotel members experienced a spectacular conclusion to the 2025 show season. The excitement was huge, and several breeders returned home with titles after securing final positions.

In the class for the youngest red 2-yr-olds, multiple contenders vied for the top spot, including the Reserve Champion of the Fokveeshow Laren/Bathmen 2025. Holbra Hipo Rosi Red VG-87, from the Holmer family’s herd, was defeated by the young Jersey 2-yr-old Rh Chrome Veronica from Roubos Holsteins. The River Valley Cece Chrome daughter traces her lineage back several generations to the American legend Huronia Centurion Veronica and claimed the title of Red Junior Champion in the final, with the reserve title going to the Holmer family’s entry.

In the  intermediate class with red and whites Diekers 3STAR OH Florijn Red VG-87 entered the ring. The Freestyle-Red daughter, housed at the barn of co-owner Eiting, had already proven herself as a first calver at the Fokveeshow Lochem. Last summer, the Des-Y-Gen Planet Silk offspring calved for the second time, putting her in peak show condition and earning her second place in her class. Florijn comes from a strong line of sire dams: her great-granddam Sunny RDC is the dam of Schreur Shimmer RDC, while her own dam, Whiskey RDC, produced the bulls 3STAR OH Whisper Red and Diekers 3STAR OH Fladderak RDC.

Through a special production class, dairy cows with a lifetime production of more than 70,000 kgM were given extra attention. Participating in this class was the seven-year-old Holbra Malon 16 (sired by Hartley). The excellent bull dam from the Holbra herd achieved second place in the category.
