Debutant SDG Cap Garza at 3rd position TPI proven bulls
In America, the December 2024 breeding values for bulls have been published, with several well-known, but also some new bulls at the top of the TPI ranking.
Proven bulls
Just like in August Genosource Captain (Charl x Sabre) also manages to maintain the number 1 TPI spot daughterproven bulls in December with no less than 3336 TPI. With the debutant SDG Cap Garza (Captain x Josuper), Captain is also successful as a sire of bulls. Garza takes 2nd place with 3256 TPI and now has almost 90 milking daughters in America. In addition, the former number 3 TPI, Plain-Knoll Renegade Trooper (Renegade x Legendary), manages to maintain himself in 3rd place with 3196 TPI. S-S-I Eisaku Payload rises, from 5th place in August, to 4th place in December. Together with RMD-Dotterer SSI Gameday, they form the top 5 TPI breeding bulls.
Westcoast Lambeau retains its place in the top 10, now in 9th place with 3109 TPI and +1.45 UDC and +1.34 FLC. Mr T-Spruce Frazz Lionel is also in the top 10 USA with 3108 TPI due to his enormous production proof. New names in the top 10 are Genosource Capn Mcguire (Captain x Nashville), C-Haven Positive Deluxe (Positive x Slamdunk) and Bacon-Hill Coldplay (Einstein x Marius). Siemers Renegade Parfect has lost considerable ground (now 3064 TPI, place 26), but is still one of the highest bulls for type in the top 100 TPI with +2.37 PTAT and +2.13 UDC.
The highest red-and-white, progeny-proven bull is 3STAR OH Ranger-Red, with 70 lactating daughters in America and a total of 1367 daughters in 6 different countries, scores 2840 gTPI and +1.81 PTAT (703 classified daughters) in his Interbull breeding value. The former number 1 gTPI and gLPI young Red Holstein bulls worldwide is now also the number 1 Red Holstein breeding bull for TPI in America, as well as the number 2 LPI Red Holstein breeding bull in Canada (3531 LPI), one point LPI behind his full brother Koepon OH Robin (2712 TPI).
Young bulls
Among the bulls of one year and older, with 3423 gTPI, the list leader is now STGen Solo Abay (Solo x Thorson). He knocks OCD Thorson Ripcord (3399 gTPI) off the lead. However, through many generations of bull dams, both are descendants of the legendary Snow-N-Denises Dellia EX-95. The number 3 is still the Canadian young bull Progenesis Watchman (Sheepster x Gameday), who scores 3397 gTPI and has his roots at the American breeding farm Welcome Holsteins, New York. His three-quarter brother S-S-I Sheepster Mican also manages to maintain his position, with 3393 gTPI, and has his origins at the Sildahl Holsteins breeding farm in the American state of Washington.
The highest polled bull with NAAB code is now Genosource King P (Thorson x Captain), who scores 3269 gTPI. He is followed by the number 1 of August, Winstar Margin P (Maxwell P x Gameday), tracing back to the well-known brood cow Seagull-Bay O-Man Mirror VG-86. Margin P scores 3258 gTPI with +1.65 gPTAT and +2.17 UDC.
