Strong cow families and proven results drive breeding success
3STAR OH Janna Red (Augustus P Red) scores VG-89!
The highest score of the classification round went to 3STAR OH Janna Red, an early daughter of Drouner K&L Augustus P Red out of the well-known bull dam Diekers K&L DL Whiskey RDC VG-85. Janna Red already made a strong impression as a first calver, scoring VG-87 overall with VG-87 for Udder. Now, after calving for the second time at 4.00 years of age, she was re-classified at VG-89 with EX-90 Frame and VG-89 Type.
As a young animal, Janna Red combined her strong type profile with high total indexes and total type scores in both Switzerland and Germany. This contributed to her being contracted by, among others, Swissgenetics for embryos. Her breeding potential was fully utilized within the 3STAR Embryo Program, where she was intensively flushed as a heifer.
Now, a few years later, he next generation from Janna Red is already showing promising results. Alsgaard 3STAR Jolle RDC (SHV Vino P RDC x Romaner RDC x Janna) scores 146 gRZG, while Riethil 3STAR Jolie P RDC (Sainz P RDC x Romaner RDC x Janna) combines 368 gNVI with 144 gRZG. Janna Red is also a maternal-sister to the bulls 3STAR OH Whisper Red and Diekers 3STAR OH Fladderak RDC.
One of her first milking daughters was also classified this day. 3STAR OH Jannie Red (Skat P RDC) scored VG-86 overall and is already making her mark as a brood cow. She is the dam of the high-testing Alsgaard 3STAR Jonna P RDC (Sainz P RDC), currently scoring 151 gRZG.
Among the 2-yr-olds, the highest score went to 3STAR Polente RDC, a Peak Rover daughter, who was classified VG-87. Polente has proven to be an important embryo donor within the 3STAR Breeding Program and is also showing strong production, currently achieving 22% above herd average.
Her breeding results further underline her value as a donor. Successful flushes have already produced several promising daughters, including:

- 3STAR Patty 5561 RDC (Harmony) – 3239 gTPI, 364 gNVI and 149 gRZG
- 3STAR Patty 0838 Red (Orpheus Red) – 3170 gTPI and 400 gNVI
Polente comes from a proven cow family. Her dam is 3STAR RT Patsy RDC GP-84 (Riveting), who is also the dam of 3STAR Promise Red @Synetics and the granddam of 3STAR Patser Red @Semex.

Two full sisters by Sandy-Valley Esquire from the well-known K&L OH Mabel family were also classified. Second calver 3STAR OH Maudi was re-classified and achieved VG-89 for both Frame and Type, bringing her overall score to VG-86. Her younger sister, 2-yr-old 3STAR OH Madoline, was also classified VG-86 and is already proving her breeding value through her offspring.
Several of Madoline's daughters are showing high genomic results across different breeding systems. 3STAR OH Micani (S-S-I Sheepster Mican) scores 3284 gTPI, while her Giant daughter 3STAR OH Margy combines 3218 gTPI with 358 gNVI.
The dam of the VG-86 Esquire daughters is 3STAR OH Mazzali (AltaZazzle). Now in her third lactation, Mazzali has already made a significant contribution to the breeding program, with around 40 offspring to her name. As a very mature 2-yr-old, Mazzali was classified GP-84, with her udder standing out in particular and receiving VG-89 max. During this classification round, she was re-classified and improved her overall score to VG-85, now including a.o. VG-88 for Frame. Despite being intensively flushed and calving for the first time at a later age, Mazzali has combined longevity and production remarkably well. Across her first three lactations, she averages 12.151 kg of milk, 4.57% fat and 3.87% protein over 305 days.

One of the first milking daughters of the strong gTPI sire Stgen Rc Redlea RDC was also classified: 3STAR OH Mylio Red. Her red colour and strong gTPI profile made her an interesting addition to the breeding program, where she has been used to further develop the red branch of the Tirsvad K&L Riveting Magnolia family.
Mylio Red was classified VG-86 overall with VG-88 for Udder and combines her type with good production at +121 LW. Through her VG-85 Ranger-Red dam, she traces back to the well-known brood cows and bull dams Tirsvad K&L Riveting Magnolia GP-84 and Pen-Col Superhero Mistral EX-91.

The strength of the family is also evident in the next generation. Her highest-testing offspring to date is 3STAR Mycanio RDC, a Mican daughter scoring 3304 gTPI. Closely related AI sires include 3STAR OH McRanger RDC, Holbra 3STAR Cojack and the recently available 3STAR RM Harmon.
