A bull bred by JU Holsteins who has made his way into AI several years ago, JU Meatloaf Red, recently scored an impressive EX-91 as a nearly five-year-old bull. A Rubels son out of JU Lonia 232 EX-91, makes him a direct descendant of the strong and long-lasting Lonia cow family.
JU Meatloaf, from the herd of Johan Uenk, is a Rubels son out of JU Lonia 232 EX-91, making him a direct descendant of the strong and long-lasting Lonia cow family. His dam, JU Lonia 232 Red, combines an impressive type score with strong production and high components. The Sodan Red daughter was previously upgraded to EX-91 and was also awarded the title Sterkoe 1 in 2025.
The combination of Rubels Red with the Lonia family was recognized as an interesting mating from an early stage. Meanwhile, the first daughters of JU Meatloaf have entered the milking herd, with his first daughter already classified VG-88 in August. In the latest index run, he also received his first daughter-proven NVI breeding value, based on his first milking daughters. He is a great example of how the breeding program at JU Holsteins, built from its own herd, can find its way into the wider Dutch Holstein population!
