Shottle Ebony, the new 100.000 kgM-cow at Zandenburg Holsteins

The 'Zandenburg Holsteins' dairy farm, owned by the Sommers family in the Netherlands, has  230 milking cows. Besides the ability to transmit very solid genetics, this herd is also able to produce a lot of milk!

A real star cow family in their herd is the Zandenburg Ebony family, tracing back to Rocky-Vu Rotate Extasy Ebony EX-94. It's from this line Sommers bred their fourteenth 100.000 kgs milk-cow Zandenburg Shottle Ebony. Shottle Ebony is a VG-85 (scored as a 2-yr-old) Picston Shottle-daughter, now in her 8th lactation.

Last year already seven cows preceded Shottle Ebony: Zandenburg Destry Bertha (GP-83 Destry x VG-85 Lawn Boy Red), Zandenburg Jeeves Venice (VG-86 Jeeves x VG-85 Intruder), Zandenburg Snowman Ebony (VG-88 Snowman x VG-87 Planet), Zandenburg Junction Tripol (EX-91 Junction x VG-87 Buckeye), Zandenburg Mascol Fabiola 1 (VG-86 Mascol x VG-86 Jurmel) and Zandenburg Sanchez Carley (VG-87 Sanchez x VG-86 O-Man)!

Zandenburg Snowman Ebony VG-88 is still present,
and her lifetime production in 2.558 days is 112.840 kgs M with 3.71% F 3.19% P.

In just one year the 'Zandenburg' herd managed to double the number of 100.000 kgs M cows from 7 to 14! Now 2021 has just begun, it's a promising milk-year for Zandenburg Holsteins again!
