Three new Excellent cows for Hedra's herd
Hedra Remarlinda 810 EX-91 (Finder x EX-91 Nelson)
Following a successful herd classification at Vernooij (Hedra Holsteins), the herd’s strong conformation level received another boost last week. Three cows were reclassified by the herdbook classifierss and all received an Excellent score. This brings the total number of Excellent cows from the Hedra herd to an impressive 18.
Leading the way was the seventh-lactation Hedra Remarlinda 810. The still remarkably youthful Bouw Finder daughter traces back through four generations to Remarlinda EX-90 (Jocko). Her dam is the well-known Delta Riana EX-91, a maternal sister to sire Delta Bookem Danno and dam of Delta Rianto. The bull dam and successful show cow produced a lifetime yield of 100,085 kg of milk in six lactations before leaving the herd.
Of Delta Riana’s twelve female descendants, Hedra Remarlinda 810 is currently the highest classified. She calved for the seventh time in May and now has three daughters at Vernooij: a Woody daughter, a Fragant daughter (VG-85) and a Lendor daughter (VG-88).
Dam Delta Riana EX-91 (Nelson)
The stylish Finder daughter, still showing no signs of her age, was classified EX-91, with EX-92 for her feet and legs. With this result, Remarlinda 810 does justice to her strong pedigree and is now the 12th consecutive generation classified VG/EX.
Hedra Javina 1416 RF also received an Excellent classification. The third-lactation daughter of Drouner Altitude-Red (Jacuzzi-Red), bred by Drouner Holsteins, was classified EX-90. In this proof run, Altitude-Red received a breeding value for the first time based on information from daughters from his proven period. With her Excellent score, Javina 1416 RF is among the first daughters of Altitude-Red to achieve such a high classification. Through several successful generations, the EX-90 Altitude-Red daughter traces back to the renowned Biesheuvel Javina family.
Six-year-old Hedra Anne 1291 also received a top classification. The Delta Floris daughter owes her strong foundation to her dam Hedra Anne 587 (Rocky), an 86-point classified descendant of the influential Vero Anne family. Anne 1291 received her first Excellent score of EX-90, with an impressive EX-92 for her feet and legs. She therefore provides Hedra Holsteins with another strong foundation for continued breeding within this cow family.
