Three rising stars ready to shape the next generations

Koepon Tricky Gracie 6 RDC VG-85 (Tricky Red x Camden RDC)
Last week, we introduced three influential young cows from the Koepon herd. This week, we once again highlight three further donors that are shaping the next generation. From the successful German Gracie family to the world-famous Red Range branch, these young cows are not only impressive individuals themselves, but are already proving their value as transmitters. Their first offspring have reached the genomic elite, confirming that the next chapter of these renowned cow families is already well underway.
Koepon Tricky Gracie 6 RDC VG-85 is one of the recently photographed donors at Koepon Genetics. The milking Tricky Red daughter combines an attractive type with a balanced international genomic profile and is already demonstrating exceptional transmitting ability.
With two full daughters by the homebred sire Koepon Simply-Red, Koepon Simply Gracie 10 Red (417 gNVI) and Koepon Simply Gracie 9 RDC (413 gNVI / 152 gRZG / 3100 gTPI), Gracie 6 RDC has rapidly become one of the herd's most exciting young donors. Both daughters rank among the highest genomic females in the Dutch gNVI rankings and are expected to enter the embryo program later this summer.
Gracie 6 RDC herself is a true all-rounder. The Tricky Red daughter traces back to a relatively unknown German cow family. In 2020, Koepon imported the Grateful daughter SH SAH Gracie, the maternal granddam of Gracie 6 RDC, from Germany. That investment laid the foundation for a cow family that has quickly developed into a reliable source of elite females and AI bull dams.
The investment has certainly paid off. Now in her third lactation, SH SAH Gracie has produced AI sires such as Peak AltaKevlow for Alta Genetics and Koepon Carthago for RUW.
Former Red AI sire Tricky Red was also used extensively within the famous Red Range family. One of the results is Koepon Tricky Range 290 Red GP-83.
Fresh since February, the Tricky Red daughter traces through Koepon Parfect Range 113 RDC VG-86 and Koepon Mark Range 13 Red VG-88 directly to the world-famous Lakeside Ups Red Range VG-86. Today, the Red Range family ranks among the most influential Red Holstein cow families worldwide, renowned for combining elite genomic rankings, outstanding type and exceptional transmitting ability.
Her dam, Koepon Parfect Range 113 RDC VG-86, developed into an outstanding embryo donor and produced approximately 40 offspring from six different sires. Several sons entered international AI organizations, including Koepon Redrave at Intermizoo and Koepon Rufus RC at Swiss Genetics. The pedigree clearly illustrates the family's tremendous influence, with numerous AI sires now carrying the Red Range genetics around the world.
Tricky Range 290 Red is already continuing that legacy herself. Among her first offspring are Koepon Mican Range 522 RDC, testing 3299 gTPI, and Koepon Hardrock Range 466 Red with 3173 gTPI, once again proving that the next generation from this remarkable family performs at the very highest genomic level.

The influence of Lakeside Ups Red Range VG-86 extends far beyond the Red Holstein population. The legendary cow family is equally successful in the Holstein population, and Koepon Wargear Range 287 VG-85 is another excellent example of that success.
The Wilra S-S-I Gd War Gear daughter calved at exactly 2.00 years of age and immediately impressed with a projected 305-day production of 11,199 kg milk with 4.91% fat and 3.71% protein. Already as a young calf, she ranked among Europe's highest gTPI females, leading Koepon to mate her to some of North America's leading genomic sires. That strategy is already paying off. Her AltaSnazzy daughter, Koepon Snazzy Range 448, currently tests 3273 gTPI, once again demonstrating the enormous genetic potential of the Red Range family.
Strong transmitting ability is nothing new within this maternal line. Her granddam, Koepon Altuve Range 6 RDC GP-84, a direct daughter of Lakeside Ups Red Range VG-86, became a heavily used donor and produced several internationally marketed AI sires, including Koepon Redroku, Koepon AltaRutilant-Red and Koepon Spell Red. Her dam, Koepon Gameday Range 133 VG-86, has continued that tradition with excellent production and transmitting ability, confirming once again that the strength of the Red Range family is passed on from generation to generation.
