Pictured cows showcase Koepon's leading cow families!

Last week, several bull dams and promising young brood cows at Koepon Genetics were professionally photographed. The first photos not only showcase impressive individuals but also underline the strength of some of the most influential cow families within the Koepon breeding program.

Koepon Renegade Esmonique 30 VG-87 represents one of the cow families that has been a cornerstone of the Koepon herd for many years. This second-lactation Renegade daughter from VG-86 Rush Hour x VG-87 Board x VG-85 Solution traces directly back to the proven Esmonique family, which has also produced influential AI sires such as Weelder Esperanto and Weelder Empire.

For generations, the Esmonique family has been renowned for combining high production, outstanding type and exceptional sire-producing ability. Its continued influence is demonstrated by AI sires Koepon Enfield, a full brother to Esmonique 30, and there mat. brother Koepon Matteo, both of which continue to transmit the family's outstanding genetics. Esmonique 30 herself is the dam of two top sires at KI Kampen, namely Koepon Westport with 363 gNVI and Koepon Dingle at 339 gNVI!

Another cow in front of the camera was Koepon Whya Range 219 PP RDC VG-86 (Whya P-Red), a young representative of one of the world's most influential Holstein cow families. Her pedigree (Whya P-Red x Matty P RDC x VG-85 Swingman Red) traces directly back to Lakeside Ups Red Range VG-86, the legendary foundation cow behind an impressive line of elite AI sires and sire of sons. Her extraordinary impact was recently recognized once again when she was named the Dutch Cow of the Year 2026.

With her combination of homozygous polled genetics and the Red factor, Range 219 has been used extensively as a donor. Eight offspring have already been born, several of which rank among the very best. Her homozygous polled son Koepon Range Rover PP Red (Rolf-P RDC), boasting 3115 gTPI, will soon be marketed internationally through Genus/ABS. On the female side, Koepon Roddie Range 418 PP RDC (Roddie PP RDC) has achieved an impressive 3034 gTPI, placing her among the most promising young descendants from this outstanding donor.

Prö Arizona daughter Koepon Arizona Range 240 P RDC VG-87 also descends from the famous Range family, representing another highly successful branch of this remarkable genetic dynasty. Through Koepon Star P Range 95 VG-87 and Koepon Altuve Range 7 VG-87, her pedigree illustrates the tremendous depth and global influence this family has achieved within the international Holstein population.

The combination of her Red factor, polled gene and multiple generations of Excellent and Very Good cows makes Range 240 a truly unique individual. Her outstanding genomic values already identified her as an elite genetic prospect at a young age. She has since confirmed her potential in production as well, with a projected 305-day record of 12,433 kg of milk with 4.14% fat and 3.66% protein.

As a donor, she has more than fulfilled those genetic expectations. Flushes with Dressman P Red, Soda PP Red and the homebred sire Koepon Simply Red have produced an exceptional group of offspring. In particular, the mating with Simply Red has proven highly successful. With 154 gRZG and 443 gNVI, Koepon Simply Range 434 Red has already established herself among the elite females in the Koepon breeding program. Another standout is Koepon Dman Range 460 P Red  (Dressman P Red), carrying 156 gRZG, who will enter the flush program this summer, ensuring the continued success of this outstanding branch of the Range family.
