New classification round at Schreur Holsteins

During a classification at the dairy farm of Schreur Holsteins, 25 2-yr olds were classified, sired by bulls that became prominent during their time of being used as sire of sons. There were also several re-classifications, including that of the second-calver Koepon Ranger Classy 494 RF, who changed ownership in 2022 after being sold during the Koepon Summer Sale.

The now second-calver Ranger-Red daughter Koepon Ranger Classy 494 RF managed to raise her score to a splendid VG-88 (EX-90 DS). Since purchasing this Classy, she has produced at least eight female offspring for her owners. One of them is Schreur Classy 1 P Red, by Delta Primetime PP Red, with 388 gNVI (8-2025). Earlier this year, her full sister at Koepon was also classified well into VG/2-yr-old. This is Koepon Ranger Classy 496 RDC, classified VG-87.

Among the first calvers, Schreur Charlotte 90 Red, a Delta Endless RDC daughter that calved in January, earned a VG-87 score. With this result, she becomes the seventh consecutive VG generation from the Highfield Mientje 35 RF VG-85 cow family.

From the well-known Des-Y-Gen Planet Silk RDC EX-90 cow family—where the European and Schreur Holstein line began with Schreur Sunny RDC (by Rubicon)—a Drone P Red granddaughter is currently being milked: Schreur Sunny 20 P Red. At Schreur Holstein, Schreur Shimmer RDC, a Salvatore RC brother of Sunny 20 P Red’s dam, was also born. This bull developed into an important and widely used sire. Sunny 20 was classified VG-87, including a maximum score of VG-89 for her dairy strength.
