Mabel's legacy lives on through successful Dutch granddaughters

The genetics of bull dam and leading brood cow K&L OH Mabel continue to impress and deliver results even eight years after her birth. Recently, three of her full granddaughters, sired by Parfect, were scored with outstanding scores, all achieving VG. The highest scored 2-yr-old was even good for VG-88!

Southland Holsteins made a strategic move by becoming a co-owner of 3STAR OH Martini (Einstein x Mabel), unlocking exceptional genetics into their herd. At that time, Martini was one of the highest-ranking Einstein daughters in Europe based on her gTPI. This remarkable lineage is no coincidence; her dam and granddam, Maybelline Tual VG-85, were also prominent figures on the European gTPI lists. Martini calved in September 2022 and produced seven high-quality offspring before being classified with a VG-87.

A flush with the steady conformation and high gTPI transmitting Siemers Rengd Parfect delivered three full sisters out of Martini, setting a new standard for the index breeders at Southland. Mabel 2 emerged as the highest one with still 3124 gTPI (2025-6), with her born daughters currently achieving gTPI scores up to 3268 (Southland Mabel 14 by Pace). Furthermore, Mabel 1 by Parfect, commanded attention with a VG-88 (VG-88 Ms) classification, establishing herself as the highest-scored. Her two full sisters followed closely with impressive scores of VG-87 and VG-85.

From Mabel 1, the Van Beek family has successfully bred Southland Mabel 23, a standout Cola RDC daughter boasting remarkable ratings of 142 gRZG, 335 gNVI, and 3221 gTPI. Following the May 2025 index run, she has taken her place as the highest-ranking Cola daughter in Europe based on her gTPI result!
