New proofs Germany

The German VIT centre has made several adjustments in the April proof calculation. This can cause considerable changes in the proofs of individual animals.

1. The fat : protein ratio is changed from 1:4 to 1:2.
2. The reference population (of 38.000 bulls) for the German genomic test is expanded with 120.000 genomics tested cows. Because of this addition the reference population matches better with the actual German Holstein population and is the accuracy and reliability of the genomic test increased.
3. Also in Germany there are official proofs now for the direct health traits. These proofs are, for the time being, not included in the total index, the RZG.
4. Stature is an optimum trait now, the optimum is 100.

Besides these changes there was a base change of about 2 points RZG for both Holstein and Red Holstein.

Young bulls
The genomic young sire list is lead by Hul-Stein Crownmax, an Imax son with 165 gRZG. Riethil Summerlake, bred by the Biesheuvel family in Hekelingen, is in the top of the gRZG list already several runs and is now at 2nd position with 164 gRZG. Despite all changes, Gywer RDC has maintained his proof at 163 gRZG and is the highest Gymnast son again. The highest polled Holstein bull now is called KNS Simon P, a Semino x Board, bred by GenHotel member KNS Holsteins, the Niermann family, Germany.

Caudumer Solitair P Red stays at the Red Holstein list souvereign on top, followed by Dreamboy RDC son Dreamer, who climbs from 5th to 2nd position (160 gRZG). Highest debutant and also highest Pace-Red son is K&L Palace Red, at 4th position with 155 gRZG. His dam Wilder K41 RDC VG-87 is a Board daughter from the Wilder Kanu family and is sold through the GenHotel Selection Sale to Poppe Holsteins, The Netherlands.

Proven sires
The full brothers Morgan and Masato (Mogul x Man Oman) lead with 148 and 147 RZG the daughterproven Holstein list. Vero Rocky, bred by Vero Jes from The Netherlands and delivered by GenHotel to Qnetics, is the highest newcomer at 3rd position. With 9 sons in the top 20 De-Su Balisto has clearly proven himself as successful mating sire. At the Red Holstein list Schreur Apoll P Red and Step Red have switched position (now 2 & 1) and Present Red (s. Perfekt Aiko RDC) has his debut at a great 3rd position.
