Lots of movement in December NVI: new captains for both Holstein and Red Holstein!

Drouner Abraxas Red P, again the highest conformation transmitter
The December index run once again brings a lot of movement in both the NVI Red and Holstein sires line-ups. Polled bulls are clearly gaining ground, new top performers appear at the head of the rankings, and several proven bulls further strengthen their positions. Bulls bred by GenHotel members are also strongly represented in the highest regions. Below you will find a complete overview of the most important shifts.
Young Bulls
Within the Red Holstein list, the share of polled bulls is rising. One of the joint number 1 bulls for December is Delta Richman PP-Red (Universe RP RF x Warren P RF), who not only scores 414 gNVI but is also the leading INET sire (+639). Blue Zone P RF son Delta Modiwood P-Red shares the top position and, with +1198 LVD, is one of the best bulls for longevity. Only one bull surpasses him in this trait: the German bull Cardiff P-Red with 362 gNVI and 1232 LVD. His gNVI places him 10th in this list. On Tuesday, his 159 gRZG already secured him a shared no. 1 position in Germany.
The August 2025 no. 1, ELL Schach (#5 gRZG), drops four points in his index and falls to 382 gNVI, landing in 5th place. The highest-tested genomic bull bred by GenHotel members is HLB 3STAR Crawford Red (CR 7 P Red x Camden RDC), who ranks 8th with 365 gNVI. This bull, bred by Lindenhof Holsteins and GenHotel, hails from the Lakeside Ups Red Range line and positions himself two points above the shared number 1 bull in Germany: 3STAR OH Maestro Red, with 363 gNVI. The Shield RC son, bred by De Oosterhof and GenHotel, enjoys an excellent first index run!
Also the previous number two from August, Brakels Elevate Red, cannot keep pace with the debuting bulls. The Rammstein Red son from KI Kampen drops to 378 gNVI, placing him in 6th position.
The highest type transmitter is Wilskracht Wave Red, the Abundant RF son from Emiel Willems’ renowned Warsi family. With 116 type (114 udder), 108 udder health, and a solid positive contribution to milk, Wave is an easy choice for dairy farmers.

At the Holstein rankings, German dominance comes to an end too. Rise Up drops seven points in his index, meaning the Real Syn son can no longer compete with the newcomers in the list. However, the American-bred Genosource Moti (by Hobbs) makes a major leap of +10. With 420 gNVI, he climbs two positions and becomes the new number 1. The highest newcomer is Halifax Delta Dawn (414 gNVI). This young Hammerhead son traces back to the American De-Su 7012 family. The highest polled bull in this group is Delta Time Jump P with 397 gNVI; his polled gene is inherited from his sire Universe P RF.
Based on INET and milk, VH Sitron (by Sunrise) remains undefeated. With 839 INET and an impressive 3743 kg milk, he is clearly the undisputed leader and has increased considerably in both indices compared to August. Among the type transmitters, Delta Showcase — an Activator son — leads with 115 type. With 111 udder, 110 feet & legs, +1425 kg milk, and positive components, he is a favourite among dairy farmers.

After eight index runs, the American bull Genosource Captain (by Charl) loses his long-held top position. He drops 30 points in INET and falls to 9th place. WWS' owned bull Badger Ssi Ahead Jaffa (Ahead x Big Al) storms onto the Dutch rankings as a debuting daughter-proven sire. With 75 milking daughters, Jaffa records an impressive 358 NVI, 629 INET, and 846 LVD.
In second place we find Peak AltaZemini, an AltaZazzle son who rises by +50 NVI to 321 NVI. The German KAX Gladius firmly holds his standing: with 103 daughters and 320 NVI, he remains in third place. The Italian Einstein son All Nure Wendat also proves himself in the Netherlands, climbing to 4th place thanks to a +35 NVI increase.
The highest proven milk transmitter is the German Sunrise with +3277 kg milk — perfectly in line with the performance of his son VH Sitron. For type, Koepon Random (Ranger x Board) maintains his lead. With 113 type (114 feet & legs), he remains the best proven type sire. The popular Double W Ranger son has again increased his index and now counts 3944 milking daughters.

The top four remains unchanged. DG DV Rammstein Red (Jayvano RF x Jacuzzi Red), a descendant of De Oosterhof DG Rose RDC VG-89, strengthens his position as the number 1 daughter-proven Red Holstein. His number of daughters has more than doubled since August, and he rises +29 to 369 gNVI.
Rammstein is not the only representative of Sudena’s Rubicon daughter Rose RDC in the to pwith Red Holsteins. We find:
- 3STAR OH Ranger Red in 2nd place with 322 NVI (based on 193 daughters),
- Koepon Rugosa Red (by Mark RDC) in 7th place with 257 NVI,
- Koepon OH Ryder Red, Ranger’s full brother, steady in 8th with 252 NVI.
After an impressive daughter group of Ragner Red at the HHH show and positive feedback, this December run again confirms the excellent outlook for Ranger Red. He is, however, closely followed by Poppe Kayne, scoring strongly with 309 NVI for the Poppe family.
Once again, the strong contribution from GenHotel members stands out: no fewer than ten bulls in the top 15 are bred by GenHotel breeders.
The highest polled daughter-proven bull is Drouner K&L Augustus P Red, from the Aiko cow family of Drouner Holsteins and GenHotel. This Solitair P Red son scores 111 udder, 106 udder health, and 241 NVI. With 3045 kg milk, Delta Louis P-Red is the highest milk transmitter among the daughter-proven bulls. Drouner Abraxas Red P (Abundant P RF) again confirms his strength as the best type transmitter, with 112 type.
