Exciting classification news for Zandenburg Holsteins due to the Ebonys!
Zandenburg Apli Ebony 1 VG-89 & Zandenburg Apli Camilla VG-86
Meanwhile, more than 50% of the Zandenburg dairy herd consists of descendants of the Zandenburg Ebony cow family, a line that goes back to Rocky-Vu Rotate Extasy Ebony EX-94. Also during the last visit of the classifier, the influence of this great branch is clearly visible. For example, the highest scored, VG-88-points 2-yr-old comes from the EX-94 Rotate foundation cow.
Zandenburg Novak Ebony RDC, a Novak P-Red x VG-88 Yoda, is this highest scored milking heifer at Sommers. With a maximum score of VG-89 for DS, Novak Ebony RDC is even the highest Novak P-Red daughter in the Netherlands. Her dam, a 4-year-old VG-88 Yoda has calved for the third time at the beginning of this month and has already produced 10 offspring, including a VG-85 Bomaz Fynn maternal-sister of this VG-88 scored Novak daughter.
Out of Zandenburg Hotspot Ebony P VG-86, Sommers bred a polled Delta Shiner P, which calved for the first time back in January of this year. The A2A2 Shiner P produces 3.60% protein and was good for VG-87 with a great VG-88 DS. From the same combination, four more heifer calves were born, from which the next one will soon start her first lactation.
One of the highest scored Silverridge V Einstein daughters in the Netherlands is also bred by Sommers. Zandenburg Einstein Ebony, calved in November 2022, is projected at 10,130 kgsM with 4.58% fat and 3.36% protein. Her pretty fresh, in fifth lactation, VG-86 Westcoast Kerrigan dam is also still present and shows a current lifetime production of 55,217 kgsM. The Einstein scored an outstanding maximum score of VG-89 for Mammary and thus highlights the strength of her sire as big udder improver!
Foundation dam Rocky-Vu Rotate Extasy Ebony EX-94
In addition to the Ebony cow family, a few more cow families were represented during the classification. Chemello Jocko Benge VG-87 offspring Zandenburg Pensaco Camilla (by Denovo 2872 Pensacola) scored VG-86 points with VG-88 MS. Two first lactation AOT Silver Helix daughters from the Beachlawn Blwood L Lilly EX-93 and Bel Iron Irene EX-90 cow families were good for VG-86. There was a phenomenal performance for the seventh calver Zandenburg Mavid Dellia (by Mavid) as well! The Snow-N Denises Dellia EX-95 descendant has already produces 109,014 kgsM in 2413 days and in 7 lactations during her lifetime, but still manages to score VG-88 with EX-90 DS & FL at a respectable age of 9 years!
