Strong genetic foundation brings new generation of VG-scored 2-yr-olds

3STAR OH Maline VG-85 s. AltaZazzle, dam to the classified WKF Revo Malou
The heifers from the WKF breeding program once again impressed during a recent classification round. Of the eight 2-yr-olds classified, no fewer than five received a score of VG-85 or higher. An excellent opportunity to highlight both the performance of these young cows and the renowned cow families behind them.
One of the highest-scoring first calvers was WKF Mask Moniek RDC, which earned an impressive VG-86 classification. The nearly 2.5-year-old sired by Mask-Red traces through her VG-85 Gladius dam back to Veelhorst Melody VG-87, a cow family that has become one of the cornerstones of the WKF Holsteins breeding program. Today, a large proportion of the WKF herd descends from this influential Gymnast daughter.
The next generation is already demonstrating the strength of this family. A mating to the leading sire Peak AltaMuller produced two outstanding genomic daughters: WKF Muller Moniek 1 (361 gNVI / 145 gRZG) and WKF Muller Moniek 2 RDC. The latter ranks among the very best of her generation with an exceptional 423 gNVI and 156 gRZG.

Granddam Veelhorst Melody VG-87
Another VG-86 classification was awarded to WKF Mask Liselot RDC, also a Mask-Red daughter carrying the Red gene. She represents the third consecutive WKF-bred generation to achieve a Very Good classification. Through several generations, her pedigree traces back to De-Su Shottle 7012 EX-92, one of the world's best-known cow families, renowned for combining outstanding production, excellent conformation and consistent breeding success. Her granddam, WKF Redrock Lonneke VG-86, laid the foundation for this branch within the WKF herd and has already produced seven high-ranking genomic daughters.
The family of WKF Harmony Malou 2 also continues to excel. Her dam, WKF Revo Malou (Revolution), had already proven herself genomically as a true all-rounder, combining high component percentages, strong milk production and excellent fitness traits. She has now added an impressive VG-86 classification to her credentials. This line traces back to K&L OH Mabel, an internationally respected cow family that has produced elite genomic offspring for many years. Besides the outstanding WKF Harmony Malou 2 (151 gRZG, 3,216 gTPI and 446 gNVI), Revo Malou also produced WKF HM Malou 4, another elite female with 150 gRZG, 3,222 gTPI and 354 gNVI.
The renowned Royal Idevra Titanic Estate EX-90 cow family contributed another promising young cow in WKF Space Eline. The DG Space daughter was classified VG-85. Her dam, WKF Parfect Esther VG-87, produced four offspring by four different sires, with Space Eline emerging as the highest-ranking genomic daughter. The Royal Idevra family has built an international reputation for producing influential breeding animals for decades.
Space Eline is now proving her value in production as well. After eight months into her first lactation, she is projected to produce 9,500 kg of milk in 305 days, with 4.77% fat and 3.71% protein.
