Esmeralda legacy continues with new generation of VG 2-yr-olds!

New Moore Esmeralda 38 EX-93 by O-man, the link behind many VG-scored milking heifers
The latest classification day at New Moore Holsteins turned into a highly successful event, once again highlighting the strength and consistency of the herd’s leading cow families. A total of sixteen first-calvers were classified, achieving an impressive average score of 86.1 points. The highest score of the day reached VG-88, once again originating from one of the farm’s most influential families: the Esmeraldas.
At the heart of this success story stands the herd’s key-cow, New Moore Esmeralda 38 EX-93, Grand Champion of the HHH 2019. Years after making her mark in the show ring, she continues to leave a lasting impact on the New Moore Holsteins breeding program. Her influence was evident throughout the classification day.
The highest-scoring 2-yr-old was New Moore Sk Esme 194, a Sidekick granddaughter of Esmeralda 38 EX-93. She earned an impressive VG-88, including outstanding VG-89 scores for Frame, Dairy Strength, and Udder. Through her dam, New Moore Fitz Esmeralda 103 EX-92, Grand Champion of De Zuidwesthoek 2022, she traces directly back to the renowned O-Man daughter Esmeralda 38 EX-93.
That this result is far from a coincidence is also backed by the performance of her sisters. From the mating Sidekick x Fitz Esmeralda 103 EX-92, five daughters are now milking, four of which have been classified as well. All four Sidekick sisters scored Very Good, averaging an impressive 86.5 points. In addition, two Delta Lambda daughters from Esmeralda 103 EX-92 each received VG-87, once again underlining the transmitting ability of this exceptional branch of the Esmeralda family.

Another granddaughter of Esmeralda 38 also caught the classifier’s attention. New Moore Hrs Esme 184, sired by the global conformation sire Mattenhof Harris out of a VG-88 Success dam, was classified VG-86. This result confirms the successful combination of Canada’s leading conformation sire with the highly productive and dairy-strength Esmeralda branch descending from the famous Walkup Astronaut Lou Ann family.
The versatility of this family was further demonstrated by her Bullseye half-sister, New Moore Bull Esme 178. This late-lactation first-calver cow is still producing more than 33kgM/day and earned an awesome classification of VG-86 with VG-88 Feet & Legs, proving that this family excels in both production and conformation.
Beyond the Esmeraldas, several other prominent families also made their mark during the classification. Like the renowned Dutch show family of Prairie Hoeve Hendrika 82 EX-90, New Moore Jan Hendrika was classified VG-87. This Hendrika 82 granddaughter, sired by ARGH Jan, received the maximum score for Dairy Strength, providing exciting prospects for yet another generation of excellent Hendrikas.
Several VG-scoring 2-yr-olds also come from internationally recognized cow families. New Moore Tat Charlotte, a direct Tatoo daughter from North American star Unique Dempsey Cheers EX-95, received VG-87 with an outstanding VG-89 for Dairy Strength. Through an intensive embryo program, New Moore Holsteins now owns eight daughters from Charlotte by sires including Lambda, Aneesh, Jinx, and Salute. In doing so, the farm continues to build on the legacy of the 95-point Cheers, known among other achievements as the Honorable Mention Intermediate Champion at Ontario Summer 2017.

The Swiss G-family from Hellender Holsteins also demonstrated its value. Through the investment in Chief embryos from Hellender Goldwyn Gillie EX-92, a direct daughter of the legendary Hellender Champion Cortina, New Moore Holsteins has further expanded the influence of this prestigious bloodline in Europe.
One result of that investment is New Moore Chief Gizele, who calved in March and immediately achieved a promising VG-86 classification. Her full sister in Switzerland, Hellender Chief Guinness, was already classified EX-91 with EX-90 Udder during her third lactation, highlighting the tremendous potential of this family.
