Windy-Knoll-View Promis EX-95
The classification at the Poppe family dairy farm focused on re-scoring cows, but it also provided an opportunity for fresh milked 2-yr-olds to receive their first classification score. One standout first calver is a Topstone daughter from the esteemed North American cow family of Windy-Knoll-View Promis EX-95.
In December 2024, Poppe Fina 2428, an OH DG Topstone daughter, delivered her first calf, managing to produce over 50 kg of milk at her peak. The young Fina 2428 boasts an impressive lineage, tracing back through a line of VG-87 Supershot x VG-86 Snowman x VG-88 Planet x EX-93 Outside to Windy-Knoll-View Promis EX-95—the Reserve All-American 5-Year-Old from 2003 and the dam of the renowned cow Windy-Knoll-View Pledge EX-95 (by Outside). This Dutch descendant arrived at Poppe's herd through her dam, K&L SH Fina VG-87, who is co-owned by Dukefarm & GenHotel and is housed by the Poppe family. The ten-year-old Fina VG-87 has already produced over 112,000 kg of milk and is preparing to calve for the seventh time. During the classification, her Topstone daughter was good for VG-86 (VG-88 MS), making Fina 2428 the eighth generation to achieve VG/EX in a row!

The highest scored 2-yr-old with VG-87 is 3STAR OH Snoopy P Red, a Cartoon P Red daughter (owned by De Oosterhof/GenHotel). This polled young cow received a maximum score of VG-89 for her udder! Snoopy P descends from a flush of K&L OH Shiner Red, one of the most genetically significant and high-producing dairy cows at De Oosterhof. Shiner has quickly become an important donor and breeding cow for her owners through the production of her sons 3STAR OH Shield RDC, 3STAR OH Swinger Red, and 3STAR OH Sunstar P Red. This milking Cartoon P Red also entered the Embryo Program and produced, among others, 3STAR OH Snoop P Red by Marcel P Red with 152 gRZG. The foundation of this intriguing branch lies with K&L SV Sunny Red/Des-Y-Gen Planet Silk RDC.
The VG-85 scored Rammstein Red, a very promising granddaughter of bull dam Poppe Fienchen 1569 Red, made a notable impression. Poppe Fienchen 2475 Red is the dam of the top-performing Poppe Fienchen 2693 P Red (CR 7 P Red), who boasts impressive scores of 153 gRZG and 413 gNVI. With these indexes, she is currently ranked as the second-best polled Red female. Additionally, one of her sons is set to be stationed at KI Kampen. Remarkably, the VG-85 Rammstein Red daughter achieved a daily milk production of 36 kg with only 12 days in lactation demonstrating the excellence of the Fienchen cow family.
Poppe 3STAR Gerline, a 2nd calver has excelled with new score of VG-86, including an impressive VG-89 for mammary. As a granddaughter of the notable brood cow KHE I'm Good VG-88, she has produced only one heifer calf to date: the two-year-old Poppe 3STAR Gerlinda by Precision. Still testing 157 gRZG, Gerlinda stands out as one of the top Precision daughters in Europe. Notably, two of her daughters rank highly in the gNVI Holstein lists. Gerlinda has been inseminated with Shield RDC and is due to calve in August, promising even more exceptional genetics for the future.
KHE I'm Good VG-88, granddam to Gerline VG-86
The all-rounder Hul-Stein Bakersfield (Schoriels/GenHotel), who calved in September, is also housed at Poppe. This Monteverdi is from the Stantons Freddie Cameo EX-90 cow family and was awarded with a VG-85 score, in addition to high indexes in several systemas as a young heifer. Her natural pregnancy with Casting resulted in 3STAR TW Baccara, which has a gNVI of 339 and gTPI of 3134. Additionally, the Shield RDC daughter, 3STAR TW Bakershield, also scores highly with 3119 gTPI and 153 gRZG!
