Classification at Voorhof Holsteins

A recent visit of the Dutch classifier at Voorhof Holsteins resulted in good scores. One of the heifers scored is the purchased Ruby P, a KNS Simon P from the well-known cow family of the French Radieuse EX-91.
The Kurstjens family invested in this cow family during the VOST Select Sale 8 in 2020, where Ruby P (BB & A2A2) was offered with 157 gRZG. The complete trouble-free transmitting profile showed fantastic indexes for longevity, fertility and conformation. In addition, the Simon P daughter was offered with embryo contracts that had a total value of €6,200. In February, the Radieuse descendant calved from a Peak Rainow heifer calf, now peaks with a daily production of more than 42.0 kgM and is projected at almost 11,000 kgM in 305 days. During this classification round, she scored GP-84 with VG-86 mammary. Ruby P's full sister, Romania P, was sold to Koepon Genetics just a few months later during the HighlightSale of 2021. There, too, this line is been doing good as well because several Romania daughters were contracted by German AI's for embryos.

The highest scored red milking heifer comes from the deep cow family of Plushanski Chief Faith EX-94, which also delivered, among others, the well-known Dutch bulls Big Gospell, bred by Big Holsteins, and Delta Magister. Voorhof Allure 140 Red (Goal-Red x GP-84 Aram x VG-87 Spencer x VG-86 Canvas x VG-89 Jesther) is currently one of more than 40 Faith offspring milked at Kurstjens, with which this cow family supplies 37% of the total Voorhof milking herd! The Goal-Red, which calved in January, was good for VG-85. The oldest 'Allure' cow still present is the fifth calver Voorhof Allure 50. This VG-85 Poppe Timeless is another granddaughter of Green-Valley Allure-Red VG-87, from which Voorhof Holsteins bred the bulls Voorhof Lostau P - the former #1 polled R&W proven sire for RZG - and Voorhof Brilliant Red

From the collaboration between Kurstjens and GenHotel, Voorhof 3STAR June P RDC by Vh Crown got classified too. In four generations, June P RDC goes back to Beeze Judy 9 RDC VG-86, one of the highest red factor heifers of her age. Although the red factor and polled Crown daughter has been in milk for quite some time now, she was good for VG-85. From a mating with Drouner K&L Augustus P Red, the homozygous polled Voorhof 3STAR Juna PP Red was born. In addition to transmiting BB & A2A2, she scores a nice 142 gRZG with 132 gRZE in the German system.
