Durham Prudence VG-88, the beginning of the success at Holbra Holsteins
It all started for Holbra Holsteins in 2002 with the purchase of a Regancrest Elton Durham daughter from Mayerlane-DK Hiawatha EX-90 (Rudolph x Golden-Oaks Mark Prudence EX-95). Many years later, this purchase turned out to be a fantastic investment for the Holmer family. Especially when you imagine that 65% of the herd descends from this cow family now!
In the last past 18 years the Prudence EX-95 family has multiplied to an impressive and very influential cow family at Holbra Holsteins. The milking cows are known by their strong, wide frames combined with mammary systems with an aweseome udder texture which allows them to produce lots of milk with huge components. Holbra Malon 8 VG-89 / EX-90 MS is one of the cows which are introduced in the video below, she's really a great Prudence representative! This Jetset daughter of Holbra Malon 3 VG-88 is dry at this moment and is due late February from Nuberon (Superhero x Silver). Malon 8 finished her second lactation with 20.395 kgs milk with 4.16% fat 3.89% protein in 489 days.

Not only in the Holbra dairy herd the offspring of Prudence EX-95 is doing extremely well. Holbra Paya VG-89 (by Sandy-Valley Bolton) was sold as a heifer to Lakeside Holsteins in 2008, where she developed into a phenomenal dairy cow. With her last milk recording she made it to a total lifetime production of 100.025 kgs milk with 5.05% fat and 3.78% protein sofar!

Last year the Holbra herd was expanded with a new addition of a very fancy 'red Prudence': Quatropoint K&L SW Rosita Red (Swingman-Red x Rubicon). Holmer has flushed her several times and the embryos have been successfully sold inland and abroad!

The Holmer family not only bred a huge number of great female progeny, but managed to breed multiple AI bulls from this cow family too. With over 3,000 milking daughters in Italy Holbra Inseme Rodanas (Doorman x Holbra Sana VG-89) is of great influence in Italy. Rodanas is the former no. 1 gPFT and already many runs in the top 10 PFT proven sires in Italy! Another sire, Sjonny Supertoro is the former no. 1 gICO in Spain. He graduated as daughterproven sire last year at Xenética Fontao with over 300 milking daughters. A remarkable sire in the Netherlands is Holbra Bastilo @KI Kampen. Bastilo is a Balisto son of Holbra Malon VG-87 and transmits skyhigh components: +0,75% fat and +0,41% protein.
