A great classification at Giessen Holsteins. 18 B&W 2-yr olds classified 86.5 on average. 5 2yr olds are classified with the high score of VG-88 and 3 2nd lactation cows are classified with the maximum score of VG-89. Most cows hail from homebred families such as the Charity, Cinderella and Precilla family.

Genomic and proven bulls

Some people say you cannot get elite type when using high genomic bulls. With this last herd classification Theo van Vliet proves that this is possible when selection the right bulls. Besides high proven type sires such as Damion, Dempsey, Goldday, Goldsun and Lauthority he used a few years ago high genomic type bulls as Atwood, Bradnick and Gold Chip. The awesome results are shown in the table below. All these bulls do have one thing in common, they all hail from some of the best cowfamilies.

Giessen Struik

Another bull from a great family that is used a lot at Giessen Holsteins is the homebred Giessen Struik. Struik is a Shottle son of Starleader daughter Charity 504 EX-94 who hails from the Brookview Tony Charity EX-97 family. 6 Struik 2-yr olds where classified 86.3 points. Struik daughters are great maturing cows, just as Charity 504. This is proven by the Struik daughters Giessen Praline 12 and Giessen Charity 68. Praline 12, a Struik out of Giessen Praline 2, is now classified with the maximum score of VG-89. Her half-sister Charity 68 is classified VG-88. A full sister of Charity 68, Giessen Charity 76, is one of the VG-88 classified 2-yr olds. Their dam is Giessen Charity 51 VG-86, who is also the dam to Giessen Charityman (Snowman) @ KI Kampen.

Cecibell

The from Belgium imported September Storm daughter Cecibell vd Cuylehoeve VG-89 looks like a tremendous broodcow. Three of her daughters got classified. Her Ladd P daughter, Cecibell 3, is classified VG-86 (1st lactation) and her Savard (Cecibell 2) and Maximus (Cecibell 4) daughter are classified VG-88 in their 2nd and 1st lactation respectively.
