Successful first online Dutch livestock auction
2-yr-olds sold for an average price of € 1.927
The Vernooij family (Hedra Holsteins) can look back on a successful online Hedra Home Sale, which took place last Thursday September 9th. Vernooij was the very first to organize an online dairy livestock auction as a Dutch dairy farmer. About 50 Holsteins were auctioned via the online auction platform FarmersBid.com. This sale was well commented by the Belgian auctioneer Eric Lievens.
Last Wednesday, September 8th, there was the opportunity to preview all selling animals at Vernooij's dairy farm. From all over the country, dairy farmers and those who were intersted, came to see the youngstock and milking cows. For the people who could not be present, there was the possibility - online - to view each lot by short videos.
Thursday, September 9th at 11:00 AM, the time had finally arrived to purchase great females from deep cow families, owned and or bred by Hedra Holsteins. Over 50 different bidders were competing for their favourites! This resulted in a high sales percentage with on average great prices:

'Best seller' was the red Hedra Warsi 1125 Red. This well balanced 2-yr-old attracted the attention of many visitors and it was also clear to Arjen Vernooij: she will be the auction's favorite. Nothing could be further from the truth, because she sold for no less than € 2,600 to a Dutch breeder. The three-months-fresh Delta Jacuzzi-Red daughter comes from the popular Bonhill Warsi family, with Granduc Sugar Cleitus RDC EX-90 as foundation cow. In addition she has a super mammary and great feet and legs. She produces well and is A2A2 beta casein. Granddam of Warsi 1125 Red is the famous brood cow De Volmer Warsi RDC VG-86.
Lot 4 Hedra Warsi 1125 Red sold for € 2.600 and can be titled as 'topseller' of the day!
