Dora Acmé VG-89 at the foundation of five present milking generations

Oosterbrook Dora Acmé VG-89 (Acme RC x Obelisk0
A remarkable milestone was recently celebrated at Oosterbrook Holsteins. Foundation cow Oosterbrook Dora Acmé (Acme RC x Obelisk) surpassed the impressive mark of 100,000kgM lifetime production during her tenth lactation. The achievement crowns an outstanding career and highlights the strength of a branch that continues to excel in production, longevity, and conformation generation after generation.
Dora Acmé, a member of the Dora family at Oosterbrook Holsteins, calved for the first time in June 2015 at two years of age. Now, eleven years later, she reached the 100,000 kg milestone in 3,372 days. The durable and productive cow calved for the tenth time last December at 12.5 years of age and recently improved her classification score to VG-89.
What makes this achievement even more special is the consistency with which Dora Acmé passes on her strengths. Today, five consecutive generations from this family are in milk at Oosterbrook Holsteins, underlining the exceptional breeding value of this maternal line.
Her Excellent daughter Oosterbrook Acm S Hanillo EX-90 (Hanillo) is currently in her eighth lactation after calving again in May. The two-time Reserve Senior Holstein Champion at the Bathmen/Laren Show (2022 and 2023) has already produced 90,718 kg of milk lifetime, combined with impressive components of 4.55% fat and 3.77% protein (lifetime average). She is expected to join her dam in the elite group of hundred-tonne cows later this lactation.

The third generation is represented by Oosterbrook Esperanto Hanilla EX-91, another outstanding member of the family. Now in her fifth lactation, she averages 11,139 kg milk on a 305-day basis and combines production with exceptional lifetime components of 5.25% fat and 3.94% protein. In 2024, she enjoyed a highly successful show season, winning both the Grand Champion title at the Fokveeshow Lochem and the Senior Champion title at Fokveedag Oost-Gelderland.

The family's success continues through the fourth and fifth generations. Oosterbrook Eloy Hanilla RDC, currently in her third lactation, and her red daughter Oosterbrook Rednex Hanilla Red ensure that five generations from this maternal line are simultaneously in production today. The young Rednex daughter recently reinforced the family's strong type transmittion by scoring VG-86 in her first classification, including VG-87 for Udder.

With Dora Acmé VG-89 as its foundation, this cow family has proven its ability to combine longevity, production, components, and type while transmitting these qualities from one generation to the next. The fact that five generations are currently milking at the same time is perhaps the strongest testament to the family's lasting success.
