Last Friday, November 19th, the 9th VOST Select Sale took place. Already on Thursday evening there was an opportunity to watch a large part of the selling animals in Leer, and several customers and breeders actively used the opportunity to check on their favorite. During the pre-bidding numerous bids came in, so several sale lots entered the online sale with start prices of € 5,000 and more.
The top seller of this year's sale was catalogue number 14, consigned by KNS Holsteins. It was the polled and red carrier KNS Derbystar P RDC by Star P RDC (gRZG 167). For € 32,600 this young heifer found a new home. This heifer already features a total embryo contract value of € 17,500! The second highest prize was reached by lot 65, the red K&L Sputnik RDC daughter KNS Derbytime-Red with 167 gRZG (2924 gRZ€) and 305 gNVI - also bred by KNS Holsteins. She was sold to the Netherlands for € 15,000. Both sale toppers hail from the well-known KNS Dorfgirl EX-93 cow family of Niermann and share the same dam: KNS DerbySieger (by Gywer RDC)!
The only Brown Swiss in this VOST Select Sale came as a complete surprise. Lot 38 Mox Arve was sold to Belgium for a stunning € 7,200! With this, Arve was the highlight of the milking 2-year-olds.
