Germany is one of the first countries this morning which has published the last proofrun of 2023! Especially in the top black-and-white RZG lists, we see new names appearing. At R&W the August top red bulls compete again for the top positions. It's up to GenHotel to bring you a summary of the RZG December proofs in this news item.

Genomics bulls
With no less than 171 gRZG, 156 RZM, 132 gRZE and 2992 gRZ€, Real Syn (Rover x Adaway) stays in leading position and remains lonely at the top. With his increasing gRZ€, the Rover son, owned by Synetics, is also the number 1 based on this economic trait. He leaves the no. 2 far behind. In 2nd place we find newcomer Rome with 164 gRZG (2906 gRZ€), a Regulus son that goes back to the VRC-carrying cow family of Panda Lexander Fools Gold-Red EX-92. One place dropped in the list, but up one point in gRZG, is Rover son Rockwell (163 gRZG). Fourth place is also occupied by a debutant, namely Callum with 163 gRZG. This young sire is a Coverboy son out of a Vitality daughter from the De-Su 7012 family. This line is popular with European sire analysts, which is the reason several top bulls have already been presented the last past years! With this score, Callum takes over the 4th position from Wilder Montague (157 gRZG) who drops to the 29th place. New in fifth is a bull sired by Mahomes named Marriott. He stands out in particular because of his high health trait of 132 gRZGes.

The +0.72% fat & +0.29% protein transmitting number 6, Ramses, is a 162 gRZG scoring Rainow son, which is stationed at VOST. This complete transmitting sire is just ahead of his paternal-brother. Rainstar (162 gRZG/154 gRZM) his granddam Blumenfeld Skywalker 6646 RDC is also the dam of the well-known red-and-white bull Blumenfeld Shake Red, which can be found in the red-and-white gRZG top list in 11th position. Compared to the August proofs, Saiko (Magnique x Pursuit) rose one point and hit 160 gRZG, which makes him rank 9th. The highest ranked black-and-white polled sire is Camron P, a Caden P x AltaZazzle with 158 gRZG! Wilder Holsteins brings the highest ranked bull bred by GenHotel members, namely WIL Greytop (160 gRZG) in the 13th position.

Among the red-and-white bulls, the number 1 and 2 of August have proved to be strong - again, although CR 7 P (162 gRZG) has had to give up his leading position to the GlH Redford bred by Geestland Holsteins with also 162 gRZG. This Ranger son from the Planet Silk family transmits +2082 kgM, no less than 136 gRZE and good health traits. However, CR 7 P retains his title as the highest polled red-and-white sire. In third place we find newcomer Handout P Red, a HWH 3STAR Hugo PP RDC son with 162 gRZG and flawless conformation. Koepon Sirius P Red, the Star P RDC son, scores 160 gRZG in December and dropped one point in his index compared to August. The fifth place is in possesion of the debuting Stripes, a Serge Red x Sputnik RDC bred by ZHW Holsteins. With a whopping 142 gRZE headed by total score of 160 gRZG, he is one of the best conformation sires among the top red genomics bulls. He combines this with 130 gRZN, 113 gRZKm and 126 gRZGes! Faramir, Freestyle-Red x Solitair P Red, rises again in his index and shows a score of 159 gRZG. Faramir is bred by Lindenhof Holsteins and is listed as 6th.

Once again, Cop PP Red is the highest homozygous polled bull in Germany. With one point increased in his total index, the Cartoon P Red son comes in 9th place in the top R&W rankings with 158 gRZG.

At the moment there is a nice offer of embryos, produced with German top bulls.

Progeny proven
The top 2 of the progeny proven bulls black-and-white in Germany remains unchanged after a few index runs, with OH Dg Topstone (150 RZG) at number 1, originating from the herd of De Oosterhof, followed by again Super Uno (Superhero x Missouri) with also 150 RZG. The number of lactating daughters of Topstone in Germany continues to increase and is now >5500! Highest debuting breeding bull with just over 30 milking daughters in Germany, is the widely used bull sire KAX Gladius, of which the RinderAllianz showed a very impressive daughter group last week! His highest genomics son in Germany is Glasgow, which is ranked 12th. Gladius himself made a strong debut with 150 RZG and is thus on an equal footing with the above two top bulls.

The King Royal x Supershot combination produced the American sire Penn-England Tarmac, marketed by Qnetics. Compared to his 11th position in August with 146 RZG, Tarmax rises to 4th place this month with a wonderful total score of 149. The sire Calvin (by Casino) has also done well in recent months, as he also rose from a score of 147 RZG to 149 in December, which brings him to the 5th place. His sire Casino is also achieving solid results and can be found in position 8 in December with 147 RZG and >6400 lactating daughters! One of the highest debuting bulls in the progeny proven list (next to Gladius) is the by GenHotel bred K&L Sputnik RDC, a 147 RZG scoring son of Spark-Red, which goes back to De-Su BW Marshal Georgia EX-90. Partly because Sputnik RDC was often used as a sire of sons and was intensively used for matings with embryo donors, he made his debut as a proven bull at young age with 34 milking daughters.

Highest polled, black-and-white bull remains KNS Simon P which was bred by KNS Holsteins and rises three points in December bringing his RZG to 145! The highest red carrier can be found in 7th place and is Gywer RDC son Goliat RDC with 23 daughters and an RZG of 147.

NH Solito Red, which was the August R&W proven leader with 143 RZG, has been dethroned by newcomer Garnier Red (151 RZG). The number 1 red-and-white of December is a Gywer RDC son from the famous family of Kamps-Hollow Durham Altitude RDC EX-95 and received his first proven index. The same combination of Gywer RDC x Salvatore RC also produced the number 2 sire Pröbstings Global-Red, which is now also promoted as proven sire. This former sire of bulls is the sire of, among others, the top polled red-and-white bull 3STAR HWH Globed P Red (#27 gRZG Interbull Genomics Red-and-White). Global-Red scores 147 RZG based on only 26 daughters. One of the biggest list climbers is Sam Red P (144 RZG), which climbed no less than four places this proof run compared to August. This makes the Spark-Red son the highest polled bull in the red-and-white progeny proven list in Germany. In sixth place is the aforementioned Salvatore RDC son Solito Red. He keeps his 143 RZG and increases his total conformation score with one point to 141 RZE! One point up in RZG, but down four spots in the rankings is Aperol P Red (Apoll P x Ladd P). This now seven-year-old bull has been in the top 10 for several proofs in a row! Wilder Holsteins bred WIL Paladin Red by Pace-Red has also risen considerably with a total index of 140. Not only does he increase 5 places compared to August, but his RZG has also been increased by 4 points.

Once again, Acryl PP Red (Abi Red PP x Battlecry) is the highest homozygous polled  sire in this ranking. The Abi Red PP son, which goes back to the Belgian Stadel-Red daughter Suzan EX-91, is one of a total of four homozygous polled bulls in the R&W proven top 50. With an unchanged score of 130 RZG, Acryl PP Red is now in 30th place.
