From VOST Select Sale to breeding success

At the 2022 VOST Select Sale 10, Foreman daughter Oki was offered as a promising heifer calf. With an impressive 159 gRZG combined with strong Italian and American indexes, she attracted the attention of Beerzedal Holsteins and HiPo Genetics. That joint investment has since proven to be a major success, as the now four-year-old Oki has developed into a key foundation female within their breeding program.
The purchase of this VOST Select Sale lot is clearly paying off today. Oki, a milking Foreman daughter, is due to calve for the third time this summer to Winstar Ecstatic P. As a first-calver she was classified GP-83, including an exciting score of VG-87 MS. She also recorded an impressive 305-day production of 12,490 kg milk with 4.31% fat and 3.57% protein. The family continues to prove itself genetically as well: her full brother Fairfax was purchased by RBW and may receive his first daughter-proven breeding values later this year.
Behind Oki stands a strong international cow family. The pedigree traces back to the Italian foundation cow Aquila Luke Galizia EX-90, who established a family renowned for both type and genetic performance. Several successful AI sires emerged from this line, including Aquila Patron Lucente, Aquila Charley Damir, and Aquila History.

Oki is also transmitting her qualities successfully to the next generation. Flushing her produced five female offspring. Four are already milking, with three classified VG. Capitol daughter Hipo C Oprah currently leads the group with a VG-87 score.
From a breeding perspective, the mating with SYN Sega P RDC proved especially successful. This cross produced Beerzedal Hipo S Oksana P RDC VG-85, who has already produced three daughters herself: two reds and one polled Holstein. Attention is now turning toward the future generation, highlighted by Beerzedal Hipo M Olivia Red, a Malaga Red daughter from Oksana. With an outstanding balanced profile of 156 gRZG (#1 Malaga daughter for gRZG), 3030 gTPI, and 409 gNVI (top Red Holstein gNVI), the next successful generation is already waiting in the wings!
