The 33rd HighlightSale deliveres a great start of the new year!

Long before the start of the sale, buyers and interested parties crowded in de barn behind the heifers to get their own impression of the great quality. Whether it was genomics tested calves, first-class type pedigrees or impressive first calvers, there was a suitable offer for every interested buyer on this crowded evening in Hamm, Germany!

As a result, an excellent average price of € 7,720 was achieved for all sold females. Almost half of all lots have found their new owner in the RUW area; the other half was distributed to all regions of Germany and the neighboring European countries. Dutch buyers were the most actively involved, followed by customers from Belgium and Italy! 

The heat was on when lot 4 PRÖ Showdown, bred by successful breeder Pröbsting Holsteins, took the stage. She is the highest Cronk daughter in Germany at gRZG and gRZ€ and at the same she excels in many other international systems as well. She also descends from the world-famous Des-Y-Gen Planet Silk RDC EX-90 cow family, which sold as a 2-yr-old milker for 1 million US dollars. With embryo contracts of more than € 30,000, this absolute top heifer delivered a real battle of bids. The hammer fell with the last bid of € 55,000 and with that Showdown was sold to a breeding organization within Germany.


Topseller with the sale team

The top seller was succeeded by lot 20 LG Prima Red P, a polled Skat P RDC daughter which goes back to Buttwood Durham Perfume EX 94. With 166 gRZG and 2792 RZ€ she is the highest testing polled red-and-white heifer in Germany! With embryo contracts of more than € 30,000, this polled red heifer calf was able to leave the stage for an impressive price of € 40,000.

Just before that, lot 19 WIL Hulapalu from the herd of Wilder Holsteins, the highest Picard daughter based on gRZG, RZ€ and RZÖko, was auctioned. She comes from the strong breeding cow family of show cow Batkes Outside Kora EX-94 which has produced top bulls such as Wilder Hotspot P, Wilder Hansa P, Wilder Hulk P, Bedford and many more. For the great amount of € 34,000 she switched to a new owner in the Netherlands.

The most paid for Tirsvad 3STAR Member PP Red daughter was the homozygous polled Lady in Red PP, offered as lot number 1. The bids went up to a wonderful amount of € 18,000! From the branch of Wilder Kanu 111 RDC VG-88, WIL Kleopatra Red also achieved a very high selling price. She is a very beautiful red-and-white daughter of the young bull Skat P RDC, which changed owners for € 13,000. The 161 gRZG testing Shake Red daughter lot 3 ZFZ Chiara Red is in the top 10 gNVI with her (unofficial) gNVI score and was sold for the amount of € 11,000. With these very high prices, the average price in the young heifers was no less than € 10,671.

The highest price of € 6,500 for a milking heifer was paid for Kurvers daughter WIT Joga (lot 53). She showed herself very strong, so people were impressed by her excellent udder and beautiful dairy type. The average selling price for the calved 2-yr-olds was € 3,907!
