New all-rounder 3STAR OH Shield RDC is available!

At the end of 2023, the young sire 3STAR OH Shield RDC, bred by De Oosterhof and GenHotel, became available at Semex. This very high and complete red factor Progenesis Monteverdi son is expected to become very successful and could have a major impact on the global (Red) Holstein population!
Shield RDC - A2A2 (Monteverdi x Rubels-Red) is one of the top red factor bulls worldwide with his sky high indexes. For example, he tests no less than 159 gRZG in Germany, with 3752 gLPI he is the highest red factor Monteverdi son at Semex and is a very promising and complete bull due to his gTPI of 3052, +950 NM$ and type traits of +2.20 PTAT, +1.59 UDC and +1.03 FLC. All systems also show a big will for production combined with huge components and is labelled as 'Robotready'!
The pedigree behind Shield RDC has 9 generations of bulldams in a row and can be traced back to none other than Des-Y-Gen Planet Silk EX-90. A family that is now praised as perhaps the world's largest bull dam supplier! Two of his maternal-brothers, namely 3STAR OH Sunstar P Red and 3STAR OH Swinger Red were both sold to Genus/ABS. They are also very closely affiliated with well-known bulls such as K&L OH Matty P RDC @RUW, K&L OH Sunboy Red @Swissgenetics, breeding bull Schreur Shimmer RDC @Genus/ABS, De Oosterhof 3STAR Redbull Red @Genus/ABS and of course the popular Semex sire 3STAR OH Whisper Red. The current number 1 RZG young sire GlH Redford (by Ranger-Red) also descends from the same cow family and this cow family also produced some red-and-white, female offspring that were and are very high - if not at the top - of several genomics systems!
Shield RDC's Rubels-Red dam K&L OH Shiner Red is milked by the Poppe family and produces 20% above their very high herd average as a young cow in first lactation.
