Proofs Germany (B&W)

The first country with new indexes available is Germany and they have introduced some changes to the (G)RZG. The influence of the direct genomics (DGV) is a little more cautious. This means that the population is “pressed into each other” a little bit more. And bulls with no proven bulls in their pedigree will be treated a more cautious then bull that have proven bulls in their pedigree. These changes have the most influence on the highest animals.

Genomic bulls

Descendants of Balisto are doing very well. At least 8 out of the 10 ten are sired by this Bookem son. The highest is Barcley at +163 GRZG. He is followed by halfbrothers Balu (+160 GRZG), just as Barcley out of an Epic dam, and Barbarossa (+160 GRZG; MGS: Brewmaster). The top 5 is completed by Burano (+159 GRZG; Balisto x Mayfield) en Cinema (+159 GRZG; Chevrolet x Snowman).

Proven bulls

The list with daughter proven bulls (Interbull) is headed by Bob 5170. This Bookem son scores +159 GRZG. The #2 is Miles (s. Robust) at +155 GRZG. Also in the top 5 of the Interbull list are Mayflower (+154 RZG; v. Snowman), Rookie (+154 RZG; Bookem) and Emulate (+153 RZG; Bookem).
The highest “German” (German tested) bull is Dotch (+143 RZG). He is a very high milk bull just as his sire Dotson. The popular sire-of-sons Suran (v. Superstition) also scores +143 RZG. Behind this duo we can find 3 bulls at +142 RZG. These bulls are: Bariton (v. Bronco), Benjamin (v. Beacon) and Beauty (v. Beacon).
