Hedra Holsteins very successful at UFF Show
Winning Herd group Hedra Holsteins
During the 28th edition of the UFF Wintershow in Houten (Utrecht), GenHotel member Hedra Holsteins, from the Vernooij family in Schalkwijk, was very successful with several entries.
Among the milking heifers, it was Hedra Javina 1416 RF who claimed the 1st position in her class. The beautifully uddered Drouner Altitude-Red daughter produces very persistently and goes back to the American brood cow Plushanski Chief Faith EX-94. Javina 1416 RF is a maternal sister of Hedra Javina 1753 (s. Encourage), who is listed in the top 50 NVI females in The Netherlands and Flanders with 364 gNVI.
In the Intermediate class, Vernooij even managed to hit a double with the 2nd lactation Delta Ninte-Red (by Mauro) as Intermedaite Champion and Hedra Riedel 919 at her side as the Reserve Intermediate Champion. The fancy uddered Ninte-Red, a great-granddaughter of Apina Nadja EX-90 (by Ramos), calved in December and was in great shape. Her polled Taskforce P-Red son is in rearing at CRV. The 3rd calver Riedel, on the other hand, is milking for more than a year and has produced more than 17,000 kg of milk in 305 days this lactation. The excellent Midwolder Movement daughter is a half-sister of the daughterproven bulls Delta Reloader and Delta Concert.
Among the Senior Cows, in the class > 50,000 kg lifetime production, it was Hedra Sneeker 721 P RDC (by De Vrendt Martini P), who topped the class. The excellent Sneeker, who has already produced almost 70,000 kgs, gave birth to twins 6 weeks ago, but was nevertheless back in top shape, with a daily production of 60 kgs of milk. In the finals she won the title Reserve Senior Champion, after which she was again elected (just like last year) "Publieks Kampioen" by the audience at the UFF Wintershow.
All four cows, who have appeared in champions final, are producing well and have great records.
Finally, Hedra Holsteins also managed to win the herd group competition: With Sneeker, Riedel and Ninte-Red, this group had a lot of individual quality, which delivered the Vernooij family the title of Champion Herd Groups UFF 2024.
