Great GRS for Koepon Genetics
The GRS (Groninger Rundvee Show) 2016 went very well for Koepon Genetics and the family of herdmanager Alex Borst. They claimed several champion and reserve champion titles. 9 out of the 12 cows they took to the show ended up in the top 3 of their class.
2-yr olds
Right away from the first class of the day is was clear that Koepon Genetics had contender for the title with Koepon Spr Regenia 147. The pedigree from this Supersire daughter goes through a VG-86 Bookem x VG-89 Colby back at Koepon Shot Regenia 10 VG-86 (Shottle x VG-89 Stormatic x Regan-Joy Durham Regenia EX-92; dam to Mr Sam and Mr Samuelo). Regenia 147 won her class and went on to be named junior 2-yr old champion. In the finals she placed over Reidlander Bet 197, a Bonair daughter owned by the Stolwijk family, Bedum. Salient detail; the Colby granddam to Regenia 147, Koepon Col Regenia 37, was placed 2nd in the production class (>55.000 kg of milk).
Again Regenia
Koepon Genetics and the Stolwijk family divided the intermediate titles as well. Despite a “clean sweep” for Koepon Genetics in the first intermediate class it was Reidlander Bet 956 (Damion) who was named champion. Bet 956 won the eldest intermediate class and was named grand champion as well. Reserve intermediate champion title was claimed by Koepon Snow Regenia 91, a Snowman daughter of Regenia 10 and thus a half-sister to Regenia 37.
The senior champion title was won by Reina 248 (James Tko) from Mts. Drie-Poelma. She was placed over reserve Koepon Jeevs Klaske 82. Klaske 82 is a Jeeves daughter from the same family as 2-times grand champion Koepon Storm Klaske 7 EX-93 (Stormatic).
Junior show
In the Junior show there was also success for Koepon Genetics and the Borst family. Daniël Borst led Koepon Mcb Regenia 185 (Beemer) to the reserve champion title in the junior heifer class. His brother Matteo Borst claimed reserve champion title “Toilet” (clipping) with Koepon Lott Denise 39 (Lottomax) and their sister Lisanne Borst won showmanship with Koepon Puls Denise 38 (Pulsar).
