"The Type King”, that is how Holstein International calls him in the rubric "BullTalk” in their October number. We are talking about De Rith Niagara, owned by the Czech AI-organisation Zooservis. Based on 110 milking daughters (at 33 farms) he turns out to be a real typecrack. In Czech he scores an incredible +161 for conformation. As an indication: the average score in Chech Republic is 100 and the #2 type bull scores "only” +153!
Queen of the Breed
The awesome type numbers of Niagara do not come out of thin air. The Shottle son is bred by De Rith Holsteins out of Giessen Cinderella 17. The pedigree of this EX-90 Goldwyn daughter (bred by Giessen Holsteins) traces all the way back at "Queen of the Breed” C Glenridge Citation Roxy EX-97. A full sister to Niagara, De Rith Cinderella 23A, is classified EX-90 in her second lactation.
