2022-12 Proofs
In America, the December 2022 breeding values for bulls have been released, with some new bulls at the top of the TPI rankings.
Proven bulls
The number 1 TPI daughterproven bulls of August, Mr T-Spruce Frazz Lionel, manages to maintain himself in the top 3, but has to give up his lead to Genosource Captain (Charl x Sabre), who now scores 3214 TPI. Hurtgenlea Richard Charl (now place 3, 2995 TPI) and ST Gen R-Haze Rapid (place 4, with 2993 TPI and +2.46 PTAT!) make a big leap forward. De-Su Frazz Tahiti (Frazzled x Delta) drops from place 2 to place 5 (2986 TPI, -50 points), Pine-Tree Acura (Achiever x Profit) has now also entered the top 10 TPI. S-S-I Pr Renegade has been in the top 10 several runs and has a remarkably high feet & leg score (+1.81 FLC). Woodcrest King Doc remains the only bull in the top 100 TPI with a PTAT > +3.00. Highest Red & White daughter-tested bull is now Dg OH Rubels-Red, who scores 2723 TPI with +1.93 PTAT through more than 600 milking daughters in America.
Young bulls
In the high genomic young sires of one year and older, the list leader is again unchanged: STGen Cowen Thorson (Cowen x Charl) was and is the highest bull, now with 3228 gTPI (+10 points) and extreme production aptitude. He is followed by Genosource Jack and John, the 2 clones of Captain. In 4th place is Genosource Brockington, a Captain x Heir with 3198 gTPI and also a huge production. T-Spruce Phoenix 2176 (Parfect x Lionel) not only scores high for gTPI (3195), but has a great type score as well: +2.53 PTAT with +2.27 UDC and + 1.32 FLC. Also in the top 10 gTPI young bulls is Peak Masterpiece, an AltaKevlow x Helix with 3191 gTPI, very favorable health traits and from the Seagull-Bay O-Man Mirror VG-86 family.
The highest polled bull is now Winstar Mendel P-son Denovo 3927 Myriad P, with 3102 gTPI, and his dam is Denovo Luster-P 3398. The rank leader polled bulls in August, Winstar Maxwell P, a Mendel P from a Denovo Entity dam, is now the number 2 gTPI among the polled bulls with 3098 gTPI.
