In America, the April 2024 breeding values for bulls have been published, with some well-known, but also several new bulls at the top of the TPI ranking.
Proven bulls
The number 1 TPI daughterproven bulls USA, Genosource Captain (Charl x Sabre) remains the leader with 3287 TPI. The former number 1 gTPI RMD Dotterer SSI Gameday (Big Al x Blowtorch) rises no less than 125 points TPI this turn, from place 9 to place 2 and also scores +2.22 UDC. Debutant in 3rd place, with 3147 TPI, is Westcoast Lambeau (Pursuit x Doc), a descendant of the well-known Canadian brood cow Comestar Laurie Sheik VG-88. Lambeau also transmits the best udders and scores +2.45 PTAT. Frequently used bulls such as Mr T-Spruce Frazz Lionel, Plain-Knoll Renegade Trooper and Siemers Renegade Parfect manage to maintain the top. The number 2 and 3 of December, Farnear Upside and Ladys-Manor Outcome have had to give up a lot of ground (-79 and -45 TPI respectively) and are now in 16th and 17th place.
Young bulls
Among bulls of one year and older, OCD Thorson Ripcord (Thorson x Captain) is now the leader with 3390 gTPI, mainly due to an extreme production proof. Through many generations of bulldams, Ripcord traces back to the legendary Snow-N-Denises Dellia EX-95. The number 2 is also bred by the American breeder Oakfield Corners Dairy, scores 3342 gTPI and is called OCD Thorson Darth Vadr (also Thorson x Captain), but has his roots at No-Fla Holsteins. He has swapped his placing with Genosource Bonjour (Thorson x Captain), who now scores 3314 gTPI.
