August 2023 bull proofs USA
In America, the August 2023 breeding values for bulls have been released, with some new but already known bulls at the top of the TPI rankings.
Daughter proven bulls
The number 1 TPI breeding bulls USA of April, Genosource Captain (Charl x Sabre) is also the list leader in August, but now scores 3184 TPI (-59). Last time's number 2 and 3, Mr T-Spruce Frazz Lionel and April debutant Siemers Renegade Parfect, also managed to hold their own with 3099 and 3084 TPI, with Parfect also scoring a fine +2.66 PTAT (with +2.40 UDC and +2.30 FLC). Highest debutant this run is former number 1 gTPI high genomic young sires RMD-Dotterer SSI Gameday, which is ranked 4th with 233 milking daughters and 3063 TPI. Former mating sire Claynook Zasberilla continues to rise (from 2967 to 3009 TPI) and is now in 9th place (was 13). Also for type he shows (with 300 scored daughters) nice figures: +2.34 PTAT with +2.78 UDC. Silverridge V Einstein, already up several runs in a row, now rises from 2996 to 3004 TPI. Also remarkable is the development of Hurtgenlea Richard Charl, who has with the increasing daughter numbers dropped in 2 runs 100 points TPI and slides from place 3 to 47.
Woodcrest King Doc (+3.24 PTAT) remains the only bull in the top 200 TPI with a PTAT >+3.00. Other high daughter proven type bulls in the top 200 are Farnear Delta-Lambda (Delta x Numero Uno) with +2.68 PTAT, Cherry-Lily Zip Luster P (Zipit P x Kingboy) with +2.67 PTAT and the aforementioned Parfect with +2.66 PTAT. In addition, Luster P is once again the highest polled daughter-tested bull for TPI.
High genomic young sires
Among the bulls of one year and older, the rank leader, with 3255 gTPI and an extreme production proof, is now Ladys-Manor Smoke Owen, a Cookiecutter Holysmokes son from a Granite dam, which traces back to the well-known breeding cow Ladys-Manor Outside Topaz EX-91. He not only scores sky-high for gTPI, but also has a flawless type linear and +1.54 PTAT. Plain-Knoll SSI O Stader (Overdo x Acura), inherits even more kilos of protein and is in 2nd place with 3242 gTPI. Also the number 3, SSI Earlybird Sundance, scores 3240 gTPI with +1.82 gPTAT and is a Westcoast Earlybird son from a Try Me dam. Dropped from place 2 to 36 (-47 gTPI) is STGen Cowen Thorson, a Cowen x Charl with also a huge production potential and now 3173 gTPI.
The highest polled bull with a NAAB code is now Penn-England Chew P son Aurora Howland P, who traces back to Quiet-Brook D Babybook EX-94 (by Bookem). He scores 3224 gTPI with +2.08 gPTAT, but is born in February this year, so not yet available. Winstar Maxwell P son Denovo 20256 Rosco P, a far descendant of Snow-N-Denises Dellia EX-95, now scores 3203 gTPI and will be one year old at the end of this year. Winstar Klassic P, a Bomaz Perfect P descendant of Glenridge Citation Roxy EX-97, with 3184 gTPI and 1290 NM$, is also an interesting polled bull and celebrates his first anniversary next month.
