The GenHotel Embryo Sale take place online as well and is “open” 24/7. The bidder that has the highest bid at the end of the sale on that lot is the buyer of the embryos, unless there has been a bid just before the end. In that case the sale is extended with another 5 minutes until no more bids are coming in. You always have to bid at least € 25,- higher than the latest bid.

You always have to bid at least €25 higher than the latest bid. It is possible to buy the embryos before the end of the sale? YES! You can do that by bidding as high as the BUY NOW price. When you make a bid at the BUY NOW price, you are directly the owner of the embryos.

The GenHotel Embryosale is an online sale. The bidder that has the highest bid at the end of the sale of that particular lot, is the buyer of the embryos. In the case that there is a bid just before the end, the sale is extended with another 5 minutes. You always have to bid at least €25 higher than the latest bid.
It is possible to buy the embryos before the end of the sale! You can do that by bidding as high as the BUY NOW price. When you make a bid at the BUY NOW price, you are directly the owner of the embryos.
General
1. These terms are valid for all agreements which are made through this sale.
2. On this agreement Dutch law applies.
3. The GenHotel Embryosale is organised by GenHotel B.V., hereafter called "organization”.
4. The party which offers his embryos in this sale will hereafter be called "seller” and the party who buys trough this sale will hereafter be called "buyer”.
5. The organization will only act as an intermediate in the realization of an agreement between seller and buyer.

6. The GenHotel Embryosale takes place online. The bidder that has the highest bid at the end of the sale of that particular lot, is the buyer of the embryos. You always have to make a bid that is at least €25 higher than the latest bid.
It is possible to buy the embryos before the end of the sale. You can do that by bidding as high as the BUY NOW price. When you make a bid for the BUY NOW price, you are directly the owner of the embryos.

We work with biddingnumbers and passwords. You will receive them when you register yourself online. By clicking on the link of the email we send to you, you will activate your account. If you make a bid you are officially registered and you have agreed with the conditions of the sale.

7. The bids are made in Euros per embryo. All embryos are #1 quality at freezing. The bid amount is excl. 10% auction fees (with a minimum of €50), excl. transportation, exportcosts and excl. VAT. The total price is the bid multiplied by the number of embryos.
8. Every buyer is bound to his bid. If somebody makes a bid just before the end of the sale, the bidding is extendend with 5 extra minutes. The organization has the ability to accept an offer any time during the sale.
9. On disputes which might arise during the sale, the organization decides.
10. The purchase agreement is a fact at the moment the organization assigns the lot.
11. The seller guarantees the physical quality of the embryos until the embryos leave his ET-center.
12. The transportation of the embryos from the seller to the buyer will take place as soon as possible after the auction has ended, although not before the complete payment from the total invoice (including sale costs and transport) and only after the organization has agreed on shipping the embryos.
Payment
13. The payment should be made as mentioned on the invoice.
14. The total amount has to be paid within 14 days after the date of invoice. The ownership stays with the seller until the complete payment of the invoice is effective.
15. Claims need to be notified in writing to the seller within eight days after the sale.
Excluding liability
16. The organization cannot be held responsible for errors on the website or in the advertisements.
17. The organization cannot be held responsible for visual or non-visual defects, regardless the size or nature of such defect.
18. The organization does not take any responsibility for damage to persons or cases which arises because of or connected to the sale.
19. The cow indexes mentioned are the latest known.
20. The organization of the sale can never be held responsible for the bullcontracts supplied with the sale items. The responsibility of the contract is entirely for the organization supplying the contract.
21. Every bidder is held to conform to the auction conditions. The act of bidding implicates knowledge and acceptance of these conditions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. How does a Dutch auction work?
A Dutch auction works as following: on the website you will see the current price. Every day the price will go down until somebody purchases the lot. At that moment this calf is sold and there is no possibility to bid on it anymore.
2. How can I bid?
Bidding can be done in two ways:
A. Online. Log in at GenHotel Log In with your username (bid number) and password. If you do not have a username and password you have to register at GenHotel Register. If you are logged in you can visit the GenHotel Selection Sale page to place your bid clicking the PLACE BID button. You can choose to buy a lot clicking the BUY NOW button or make an alternate offer through MAKE ALTERNATE OFFER.
B. Via a contactperson; the contactpersons speak the following languages: Dutch, German, English and French and they can help you to place a bid.
3. I would like to bid, but not for the current price. Is this possible?
Yes, this is possible. You can bid online or contact your contactperson for this option. You can pass on the bid you would like to place to your contactperson. When the current price is the same as your bid, your bid will be accepted automatically. When two persons have the same bid, the lot is sold to the first bidder.
4. I don’t succeed in placing a bid online, what to do?
When you have problems with placing a bid online, you can always contact the organization, they will assist you with bidding.
5. How long does an auction last?
The auction usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. The prices will lower every day (but not in the weekends) until the moment of purchase.
6. How is the payment arranged after a purchase on this auction?
After you have purchased one of the lots in this auction, you will receive an invoice from the organization. Payments should be done as mentioned in the invoice. The purchased lots need to be paid for including the sale commission before the lot can go to the new owner.
7. What is the health status of the offered lots?
All animals at this auction are guaranteed free of IBR and BVD. Extra veterinarian tests can take place at buyer's costs. If the animal is tested positive, the transaction can be cancelled.
8. Are the animals free from hereditary defects?
All animals in this auction are free from the hereditary defects CVM, BY, BL and CD or otherwise it is mentioned.
9. Are all animals checked on pedigree?
All animals at this auction have had a pedigree analysis through their genomics.
10. Is there a possibility to visit the lots?
Of course there is always the possibility to visit the animals. In case you would like to see the animals personally, you can contact the organization
11. How is the transport arranged from the seller to the buyer?
The buyer has to arrange the transport of the purchased animal. The transport or a possible export can also be arranged by the organization. The costs (extra health-tests + certification + transport) will be entirely for the buyer.
12. How is a first choice purchase done?
-First choice out of a ‘x’ number of pregnancies:
You have the first choice out of the heifercalves which will be born out of the pregnancies as mentioned. If all the calves are born out of the mentioned combination and their genomics are known, you have the possibility to pick out a calf. You have to make a choice before the youngest calf has the age of three months.
-First choice out of a ‘x’ number of calves:
You have the first choice out of calves, which are mentioned in the catalogue.
13. How does a bullcontract work?
If a calf is offered with a bullcontract there are conditions attached, with respect to the genomics, production and type conditions that a bull and his dam must achieve after calving. You can ask for the exact conditions per contract at the organization.
14. How does an embryo-contract work?
With an embryo-contract you are sure of a guaranteed sale from the number of embryos mentioned in the contract. You have to consult the buyer of the embryos about the matingsire before the flush takes place. Yet you are not obliged to deliver the embryos.
15. I do not speak English, is it a problem?
This is not a problem at all. The GenHotel Selection Sale contactpersons speak Dutch, English, German and French.
16. How can I submit animals to this auction?
Only members of GenHotel can submit calves to this auction, after which the organization will make a selection out of the offers.
GENERAL CONDITIONS GENHOTEL SELECTION SALE
General
1. These terms are valid for all agreements which are made through this sale.
2. On this agreement Dutch law applies.
3. The organization of the GenHotel Selection Sale is done by GenHotel B.V., hereafter called "organization”.
4. The party which offers his animals in this sale will be called hereafter as "seller” and the party who buys trough this sale will be called hereafter as "buyer”.
5. The organization will only act as an intermediary in the realisation from a (purchase) agreement between seller and buyer.
How does the sale work
6. The auction shall occur online and by the so called Dutch Auction. There are two ways of placing a bid:
A. Online
B. Through the contactpersons
7. The bids are made in Euros. The bid amount is excl. 10% auction fees, excl. transportation, healthtests, exportcosts and excl. VAT.
8. Every buyer is bound to his or her bid. Bids are accepted until the end of the sale.
9. On disputes which might arise during the sale, the organization decides.
10. The purchase agreement is a fact at the moment the organization assigns the lot.
11. All risks of the animal shall be the responsibility of the buyer as from the moment the animal leaves the farm of the seller.
12. The transportation of the animals from the seller to the buyer will take place as soon as possible after the auction has ended, although not before the complete payment from the indebted amount (including sale costs) and exclusively after the organization gives an "okay" per telephone or email for transport. The buyer needs to take care of the transport and takes cares of these costs + the costs of extra health-tests + certification for export. When the buyer is not able to do the transportation himself, the organization will take care of the transport. All costs will be paid by the buyer.
13. The payment should be made as mentioned on the invoice.
Payment
14. The total amount has to be paid to the organization as mentioned on the invoice.
A. The total amount has to be paid within 14 days after the date of invoice. The ownership stays with the seller until the complete payment of the indebted money and sale costs is effective.
B. The risk of the animal stays unchanged as mentioned in article 12.
C. The lot needs to be paid for, including the sale commission before the transport from the seller to the new owner.
D. All purchased animals must be picked up by the buyer within 4 weeks after sale. After that, housing costs will have to be paid at € 3 per day. If the export requires a quarantine, the quarantine costs will be paid in full by the buyer. When the quarantine ends, the buyer must pick up the animal himself or arrange and pay for transport.
15. Claims need to be notified in writing to the seller within eight days after supply to the buyer.
Excluding liability
16. The organization cannot be held responsible for errors on the website or in the advertisements.
17. The organization cannot be held responsible for visual or non-visual defects, regardless the size or nature of such defect of the animals sold.
18. The organization does not take any responsibility for damage to persons or cases which arises because of or connected to the sale.
19. Buyers, who wish to export their animals, shall make the organization aware of this directly after the auction. All costs and risks shall be the responsibility of the buyer as from the moment the seller has concluded the export preparations.
20. The indexes mentioned are the latest known.
21. All sale animals are guaranteed negative for IBR and BVD. In the case an animal is tested positive the transaction can be cancelled. However the organization does not take any responsibility for the disease free status of a calf or for a farms’ healthstatus.
22. The organization can never be held responsible for the bull- and embryo-contracts supplied with the sale items. The responsibility of the contract is entirely for the company or organization supplying the contract.
23. Special terms and conditions for the buyer of a first choice of female calves:
A. The purchaser can chose the first choice heifer among the number of pregnancies mentioned with the sale item.
B. The selection needs to be made by the purchaser within three month after the last calf is born. If a test on genomics is required, this will be paid for by the buyer.
C. Payment: 25% direct after receiving the invoice and 75% after making the choice. The selected animals are delivered under the general condition of sale. Before transport to the new owner the animal need to be paid for the full 100% including the sale commission + eventual costs for healthtests, export and transport. The 10% commission over the sale item will be charged with the first 25%.
D. After the selection the purchaser needs to pick up the sale item within 7 days.
E. If no female calf is born the deposit will be refunded.
24. In the case of (hidden) defects, the costs for sale and purchase (sale commission) will remain for the account of the seller and buyer respectively. The veterinary costs involved remain for the account of buyer. The damage is maximally limited to the price of the sale item. In no case seller or organization can be hold responsible for any damage whatsoever.
25. Every bidder is held to conform to the auction conditions. The act of bidding implicates knowledge and acceptance of these conditions.
